As Ryis exited the bar, she found herself draped in cloaks that barely concealed her body, leaving her vulnerable to a barrage of inappropriate comments from a group of men. However, amidst the unsettling situation, she remained unsure whether to feel offended or frightened.

With an air of curiosity, she strolled through the bustling streets, her eyes fixated on the intriguing individuals passing by. She couldn't help but wonder about their peculiar behaviours, particularly their fondness for a peculiar beverage that brought temporary happiness but left them feeling worse the following day. It puzzled her how they engaged in acts that appeared painful and bizarre, yet they seemed to derive pleasure from it.

She looked at the stalls and stands watching how people wound up getting the things they wished for. She watched how they would place down small gold coins for a larger piece of food or jewels, this was strange to her, in the water they didn't trade things, they took what they wanted without a thought.

She watched as people preformed tricks like breathing fire on walking on tightropes above the buildings, she didn't understand how people could feel entertained by such things cause the only thing going through her mind was how stupid humans were for putting fire in their mouths

She continued to walk further up towards a castle in the hill, that's where she knew she would find the alleged lord of the tides, as she approached a gate she felt an itchy feeling all over her body like someone was stabbing her over and over again.

She lifted the sleeve of her cloak and looked at her human skin, it was drying out faster than hse had anticipated, she couldn't breath it was like her body would turn to dust, the itchy red patches over her body ached even more.

As she approached the towering gates of the magnificent castle, her eyes widened in awe. The sight before her was truly breathtaking. Even though she had to admit that the humans built it, it was impressive.

With each step she took towards the entrance, her excitement grew. However, as she neared the gates, two guards suddenly appeared, their swords pointed directly at her.

With a venomous hiss, she recoiled and took a step back, causing the guards to exchange bewildered glances

Gasping for breath, she desperately pleaded, "I...I need to s-see the lord of the..." Her voice trembled as she struggled to stay upright, but her strength betrayed her, causing her to crumble onto the ground. Her limbs felt parched and lifeless, as if drained by the scorching sun. Slowly, the sensation crept up her neck, intensifying her urgency to catch a glimpse of the elusive creature before it was too late. Amidst the chaos, the piercing sound of guards' voices echoed in her ears, their hurried footsteps drawing closer with each passing second

They inspected her before looking at her eyes and they knew, it was what they had been told about, the sirens were here. They picked her up and rushed her to the castle and rushed her inside...

As she opened her eyes, she found herself standing in a grand hall, adorned with exquisite sea-inspired ornaments. The vastness of the space was overwhelming, and her gaze was immediately drawn to a magnificent throne crafted entirely from weathered driftwood. Seated upon it was a man with striking silver dreadlocks, engaged in a lively conversation with a woman whose silver hair was elegantly braided into high plaits.

"corlys...she's awake" the woman spoke softly, patting the man's shoulder.

The man stood up and slowly walked to her, the woman following behind, like she was dangerous.

"Why are you on land?" Corlys asked harshly like she was a prisoner he was interrogating, causing ryis to hiss and move backwards, the woman sighed and pulled him back to look at her.
