That morning Allison had been abruptly awakened by Aunt Vanessa: at half past six in the morning she had arrived in her room to throw her out of bed. The woman claimed that the girl needed more discipline and now, that she was aware of the family work, also of a suitable training for the role she could have, since in the tradition of hunters it was women who made the final decisions and not men

Allison was forced to change quickly and put on a suit, as her aunt informed her that the beginning of her training, as she had called it, would be a race. Once closed the door of the house she saw that with them there was also her cousin, Austin, ready in jumpsuit, stretched and warmed with decisive and impassive movements

The girl wondered if he knew... but deep down, at least he would've told her, wouldn't he?

"Oh, finally! Let's get started. Keep up, okay?" Austin was already ready to leave, just waiting for his mother to start the timer. She did not know her cousin very well, she had seen him perhaps once or twice, since he, like her grandfather, lived in New York and she had never been there; despite everything he seemed an extremely serious and determined guy, rarely had she seen him distracted or even more loose, but never in the presence of his mother

After the race began the accelerated self-defence course, name always given by her aunt, at that point the girl understood that her cousin was a hunter, from quite even, he knew how to move decisively and without making half a mistake, was the exact copy of the mother in the movements, so as soon as he had time he tried to talk to him

"Austin! How long have you been in this world?" tried to understand the girl, she did not think he could've been in that world for so long, I mean, until a few years before he was basically a child!

"Princess, not everyone got to grow up under a glass case from which you could only see a muffled world, all roses and flowers. I've been a hunter all my life," his voice didn't change tone for a second, he stayed still and calm, that guy creeped her out

"Why did you hide it? It is known that the others know that ours is a family of hunters" insisted the girl walking next to him as they headed to the front door, probably headed for a shower

"Because they should not know and, moreover, no one has ever asked me anything, indeed they often talk to each other. I don't think they, except for Rory, like me so much" the boy with great strides had come to the door of the bathroom so, he opened it and the girl, who hadn't finished talking, was about to follow him but she was almost hit by the door

Allison did not understand, she went to her room to get some clean clothes with which she could change after the shower; she reflected a lot, she thought the boy was just scared, in fact it was known that there were werewolves in Beacon Hills and maybe he was afraid, afraid of losing his mother or hurting himself, especially after what had happened to Kate...

It was absurd how that day Stiles could not find Ophelia anywhere, the girl was always distant in the classroom and, as soon as the bell rang, she disappeared, he had tried to ask Scott where she was over as soon as the lessons ended, at the sound of the last bell. Thanks to Scott's developed senses the boy managed to locate his sister, so Stiles rushed to the back of the school where there was Ophelia, who was heading home

"Listen, I wanted to ask you, if by any chance you knew why Rory is mad at me" at Rory's name the girl lit up and in the guy in front of her lit up a glimmer of hope, he hoped to finally figure out what had gotten into her and what he might have done to her

"Did you know she has powers? They're like a ray of red light..." Ophelia had been thinking about them since she found out about them, had also done some research, but found nothing. Then she was hurt, thinking that the one who could become so much more than just a friend for her, had hidden something so important to her, it had left her empty, hurt and extremely disappointed
"What? Yes, I'm her boyfriend, I knew it," Stiles replied nonchalantly, not knowing that he have just triggered a bomb that is already on the verge of exploding. The girl felt even more hurt, she couldn't believe it, he knew and she didn't, why? She kept asking herself why
