Every day felt like a monotonous loop for Aether. Wake up, shower, wake Lumine up, shower, attend classes, avoid unnecessary interactions, retreat to his dorm, complete assignments if there were any, eat the obligatory meal, and then drift off to sleep-rinse and repeat.
His phone remained in a perpetual state of 'do not disturb' or was simply turned off. The exception, of course, was Lumine. Being twins and roommates, they didn't need to exchange messages constantly.
The blinking red notification dot next to his messaging app hinted at unread messages, most likely apologies or attempts to reach out. Yet, Aether hesitated to check. A sense of embarrassment and uncertainty held him back, leaving him unsure of what to say.
Deep down, he pondered if things would ever return to normal. Amidst the mix of emotions, there was an undeniable yearning for the way things used to be. Well, not with everyone, but there were certain connections he missed.
