**WARNING!! TALKS OF SELF-HARM IN THIS CHAPTER**

    It has been two weeks since Jasper and his family moved to Lake o' the Pines. And it is very hard to ignore the neighbor up the road, when he is constantly outside from dawn to dusk either;

Running

Playing with his little sister.

Or riding bikes with his mom.

As if he is waiting for Sullivan.

    'I'm overthinking things.' Sullivan thought as he continued his homework for summer school.   Kayla didn't want Sullivan to fall behind, so she signed him up for online summer courses.

    Ever since Sullivans father arrived home the day before from his fishing trip, he has made sure that the redhead followed a strict routine for the weekday; wakeup, eat, sit at the family computer for a couple of hours, homework, eat, sleep, repeat. Then on the weekends, he is busy with filleting the fish early in the morning, taking care of the house and doing outside chores.

He doesn't have time for fun and games anymore. So, in a way, it helped distract Sullivan from the thoughts in his head.

    Poppy, Jasper's mom, came by yesterday to introduce herself to Sullivans mother and father properly and they immediately got along. Before Poppy left, she walked up to the family computer, where Sullivan was busy studying at, and handed him a container filled with some type of salve. On top of the container was a sticky note that had written, in cursive handwriting, "For your chest" which he thanked her for.

   He refused to look at the scar on his chest since that night of the party, it still sent a shiver down his spine when he thought about it. He didn't want to see it, but the pain increased as the days went by from his refusal and stubbornness of taking care of himself. He took showers, of course, but would immediately wrap it so he didn't have to look at it.

He didn't want to admit to himself that he is weak.

   But this Saturday morning, after filleting his father's catch, he was in the bathroom, freshly washed with his curls still sopping wet. He stood in front of the sink observing the salve. Fighting in his mind that if he did this, there was no turning back. But he could tell that the wound was getting infected, and he needed to do something quickly before his mother, or worse his father, noticed.

   Taking a deep breath, he opened the container. The smell of cloves and other strong scents Sullivan couldn't point out immediately hit him. Uncertainty over came the teen. He closed the container, feeling overwhelmed by all the smells, only to hear a knock at the front door. Sullivan tucked the small container into the back pocket of his jeans, when he heard his mom shout,

"Sullivan! There is someone here to see you!" Kayla shouted with clear shock in her voice.

   Sullivan observed himself in the mirror, making sure he looked a little presentable. Grey shirt and jeans.

'Good enough.'

   Unlocking the bathroom, he walked out and saw, standing in the living room, none other than Jasper Grey talking to his mother. His shaggy hair was half up in a bun with a few strands of fringe hanging in his smiling face.  He was rocking a black button up with a few unbuttoned at the top tucked into black dress pants. Paired with the dark outfit, were combat boots, black of course. He stood out like a sore thumb that's for sure.

Sullivan was glad his father was at work or else he probably would have had a cow.

   "Nice to meet you Mrs. Boyd, my family and I just moved up the street. I believe you met my mother, Poppy?"
