{Chaerin} - waking you for cuddles

Chaerin stared at the ceiling as the time continued to tick by.

It's been a long week and when she first climbed into bed with you for the night a couple of hours ago, she was looking forward to getting some good sleep.

She had been so tired at first that she could hardly keep her eyes open.

But that faded pretty fast and she's been wide awake ever since.

It's been a couple of hours since you both agreed to call it a night and you fell asleep fast, almost as soon as your head hit the pillow, and she wishes she would've been able to do the same.

She looked over as you stirred and rolled onto your side, your back now facing her.

At first, she was happy to see you sleeping so well.

At least one of you was getting some good rest.

But now, she wishes that you were awake with her because she's getting anxious as she lies awake by herself.

It was almost two in the morning and she knew she needed to get to sleep.

She turned onto her stomach and closed her eyes.

The minutes passed by and she wasn't feeling tired so she tossed and turned and kept her eyes closed for as long as she could.

But she just couldn't fall asleep.

She sat up in bed and ran her fingers through her hair in frustration.

Surely, she had to get tired sooner or later, right?

After such a long week, she should be exhausted.

She thought about heading downstairs to sit on the sofa and watch some TV, that way she wouldn't disturb you.

But she decided against that because she didn't want to leave your side, certain that eventually, your soft breaths and the comfort of knowing that you're sleeping there beside her would be enough to get her to rest.

She looked over at you and smiled a little as she watched you sleep.

Perhaps if she cuddled you close, she'd be able to get some rest.

She didn't want to disturb your sleep but she just wanted to hold you.

So she reached over and placed her hand on your back.

You awoke as soon as your name fell from her lips and you turned over onto your back.

"Chaerin? What is it?" You mumbled tiredly.

"I can't sleep." She sighed.

"What's the time?"

"Just a few minutes before two." She said and bit her lip as you rubbed your eyes with a yawn. "I'm sorry to wake you but I wanted to cuddle you."

You looked at her with tired eyes and cracked a smile as it sank in that Chaerin had awoken you just to hold you.

"You know, baby, you don't have to wake me up just to cuddle me." You said as you moved into her arms. "You could just pull me into your arms. I don't mind."

"I'm sorry." She said as she wrapped you in her embrace.

"Don't be." You said as you kissed her cheek. "It's okay."

She smiled a little as you took one of her hands into yours.

You held it tight and brought it to your lips for a kiss.

"Can I do anything to help you fall asleep?"

"No. I'm actually getting a little sleepy already." She said before yawning. "I guess all I needed were some cuddles from my girl."

"Well, I'm always happy to give you those." You said as you closed your eyes.

She put her head on yours and held you tight.

She no longer felt restless.

Instead, she felt warm and content and her eyes slipped shut from being so relaxed at last.

"I love you so much." You whispered. "Have sweet dreams, Chaerin."

"You two, baby. I love you too." She said as she finally drifted off to sleep, all thanks to you.
