The Return

But nothing happens.

The train doesn't make a sound. It doesn't move. And the door stays shut.

Static makes a confused noise and pushes more electricity into the door of the train; but still nothing happens.

"The hell..?" Static swears; confused.

Raptor shifts on his feet; shuffling his wings anxiously. "Get it open. " He growls. "I'm not going to Pandora cause some brat couldn't keep himself in line."

..He's talking about Tommy.

Raptor is mad at Tommy for exposing the hideout. When he was the one who hurt him. He was the one who decided Tommy wasn't worth anything. He's the reason he got his family ripped away from him.

Without thinking, Tommy steps out of the shadows- purposefully crunching the glass under his shoes to get their attention and lifts his chin to meet their eyes.

They both look over wildly, but seem confused by his presence more than intimidated. He's strangely disappointed by that.

"Who the hell are you?" Raptor snaps; and Tommy takes a deep breath.

He can do this. He just has to remember how the heroes do it. Even if he's not a hero right now. Was he ever a hero?

He raises his hands and lets his powers pour into his palms- but he doesn't release them. Just lets them glow to show his threat.

"Both of you p-put your hands up." He orders; wincing internally when his voice cracks from his nerves.

Static almost looks offended; but Raptor just scoffs and shakes his head. "Get out of here, kid. This doesn't concern you."

"It does actually." He snips, still keeping his hands held out towards them. "You're tearing apart my-" Home "-city. I'm not gonna let you do that."

" Your city?" Raptor laughs. "I don't even know who you are. What makes you think-"

"Hang on.." Static says, squinting at Tommy. He can feel the villains eyes darting around his masked face- then to his wings. Like he's piecing something together. Then he tilts his head with a predatory tilt to his lips. "..Is that you, Vex?"

Tommy stiffens- and Raptors wings poof out a little; like he's startled. "N-No." He shoots back- but it's shaky. "I'm Icarus."

Static narrows his eyes with a grin- like he's won. "It is you." He hisses. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm helping." Tommy shoots back, pulling his wings close to give himself a little comfort. "I-I'm stopping you from hurting people!"

Both villains laugh; and he shrinks in on himself.
