"Cut the cake, honey"

Mom said, I nodded smiling so wide that my cheeks hurt, I picked up the knife and cut a small piece of my favorite cake, Mason was the first to extend a bite of cake near my mouth, I smiled feeling genuinely happy at him and took a bite. After our little celebration, we all had dinner together as Mason told me that I'd get my present after that, I was actually excited about the present, as he said he bought it himself just for me. 

Mom cooked all of my favorites for dinner, we all ate dinner together and after that, I excitedly rushed towards the living room waiting for my present soon Mom and Mason came with a gift wrapped in beautiful pink paper. I looked at he gift expectantly although it was thin and small I didn't mind as long as they both picked it for me, I quickly grabbed the gift and tore the wrapping apart, and it revealed a file...?

I confusingly looked up at Mom and Mason, mom gave me a sorry smile while Mason raised his brows with a wide smile on his face and spoke,

"Open it up"

I nodded with now a small smile on my face, I opened the file and read the first few letters,

THE CONTRACT

I frowned and continued to read it, as I got to the end of it, my eyes were filled with tears, and my heart was beating at an enormous pace while my body was shivering really bad. I clutched the file tightly and looked up at Mason, he smiled cheerfully and spoke,

"Happy birthday Yn"

I looked over at Mom, she smiled sadly at me and spoke,

"It'll be best for all of us, Honey"

My eyes widened I looked at her in disbelief and almost whispered,

"But you are selling me"

Mason came and sat beside me, he held my shoulder a little too tightly, I looked at him as tears started flowing out from my eyes, he made a very obvious face and spoke,

"We know honey but your mom and I need money to survive"

"And I talked to these people, they will take good care of you"

I shook my head in denial and looked over at Mom, silently pleading with her not to do this with me but she looked away and I lost all the hope I was left with...

I flinched as I felt a hand on my shoulder I looked beside me and saw Taehyung, he looked worriedly at me and asked,

"Are you okay?"

I smiled, obviously a fake one, and replied,

"Just a little tired"

He pouted looking around and looking back at me, he studied my face and asked,

"Want me to call off this?"

I looked back at everyone enjoying their time, I shook my head in denial and replied,

"It's okay"

He went silent after that while Lisa and Rośe dragged me with them for some game, and just like that the whole night went by enjoying each other's company, probably the best birthday I ever had. Jungkook and Lisa told me that they are going to Paris for a month because of Jungkook's dream project, I am so happy for him when we were in college he always blabbered about his dream to organize his own fashion event in Paris and next Jimin and Rośe announced their wedding that going to happen an exact week after the Gala planned by Grandma, I was so happy for both of them, they fit perfectly together.
