The Bible:

Chloe:
Being divorced is so fun. My children have left the nest and that means I can concentrate on myself. Since I got divorced, I have been meeting a lot of men. I am old enough so I do not have to worry about getting pregnant. I do not have to worry about falling in love. For a woman, it is easy to find lonely men who want a bit of fun. Most of the men that I met are married. I suspect that their wives were making other men happy. I never tell my parents what my life is like now. They are already disappointed that I am divorced. They consider it a sin that I did not even try to save the marriage. They would consider me a slut if they knew how many men I have been with. I am a grown woman. I am old enough to decide. The fact is that I never felt so young!

Father Darby:
I have been praying for Cardinal O'Keeffe. He is now helping the Pope administrate the Church. This will be a hard job. There are many problems in the Church. We have priests who have lost their faith. We have priests who commit crimes and are protected by the Church. The Church has become like a multinational company that is concerned about money rather than souls. The Church is being seen as irrelevant and something that belongs in history. People believe that its stance on everything from sexuality to abortion is out of date. Can Cardinal O'Keeffe help change this or will he just follow with the flow and at worst be corrupted? He needs my prayers.

VTT Global News:
The latest poll shows that the people of the United States have never been so unhappy and a majority of them think that a civil war is inevitable. Political commentators point at the divided country being the fault of the politicians. The Democrats and the Republicans are more interested in power than the people. Many politicians are now ultra-left or ultra-right and have lost the ability to compromise. This division has infected the whole country, and even families are split over who supports whom. Historians would remind us of former empires that have fallen because of division and corruption. Many would think that this is impossible for the USA. But I am sure long ago that the Greeks and the Romans thought the same about their empires.

Andrew:
Power is a lovely thing and that's why I love my job in the police. In a time when crime is so high and people no longer know what is right and wrong and most are afraid, then my power increases. Today I have arrested a muslim man for some robberies. I am pretty sure that he did not do it. Yet the end justifies the means. This means that one less Muslim is on the street. It is not as if I am ruining his life. He was living off of social benefits. He was a lazy unemployed foreigner who was using the generosity of my country. He would be found guilty. I will make sure there is enough evidence. When he is found guilty, he will be deported back to the country he came from. This should send a message to all the refugees living here that we are tired of paying for them.

Cardinal O'Keeffe:
I was told today that my nephew wanted to be a priest. I know that he had found God and since then has been studying the Bible in-depth and praying. I also know his past, that of being a gay porn star. I was asked by someone here at the Vatican what I thought of it. I was honest when I said I was unsure if this was a good idea. My nephew was a porn star and this will follow him all his life. While my gay relationships and actions have been in private, his actions were on film. I wrote a letter to my sister asking her if she could not speak with her son and persuade him being a priest would not be good for him or the Church. I know this was hypocritical, but it was my duty as a cardinal to protect the Church. My nephew could still be religious without being ordained a priest.

VTT Global News:
The situation in Palestine has been becoming worse. The bombings have continued as thousands have been killed. No humanitarian aid has been allowed in. This means that people are starving as there is no food and water. The hospitals have no medicine for the injured in the hospital. On top of this, the energy has been cut off. This has pushed Palestine back into the dark ages. Israel claims that the military action is defending themselves from future terrorism. Israel's neighbours have put their military on alert and warned Israel to stop its aggression. These threats have forced the USA to move its navy to the area. It is expected that other superpowers will increase their military presence. The UN itself has given a statement hoping for a ceasefire, "It is the innocent civilians that are suffering"
