As I was sitting inside the kitchen area of Dames house he walked past in his shorts and shirtless going to the refrigerator
I looked back down going to look at the website we had set up so people could book their appointments
"Oh shit" I looked up to Dame looking directly at me
"What you doing here" he asked drinking out of the Minute Maid juice carton
"They painting the building but your mom made me stay here with you because she didn't want me around the fumes. She said something about you have something to show me and we need to shop for the baby a little before our appointment later" I shrugged off as he came and sat next to me
"My bad I forgot she said you was coming, look imma go get ready and if you hungry I'll take you to get whatever you want then we can do everything we need to do" he stated and I nodded giving him a small smile
All of this just felt so new and weird to me, I was still trying to wrap my head around the idea of having a baby period especially with Dame
His family was genuinely nice especially his mom, his father never raised his tone at me or their mom he always spoke softly towards us
I respected his family because of that, also just how caring they've been while my parents avoided me was nice too
My mom and dad haven't spoke to me since they found out I was pregnant id hate to see their reaction when they find out it's dame
Our home has been silent, we eat silently wake up silent walk past one another inside the house without looking at each other
It hurt but my mom and dad were being extra, I just feel like they should be supportive and help me in this time of need/ struggle
"Alright you ready" he came downstairs in white T some colorful basketball shorts and some white forces throwing on a jacket to match the shorts since it was chilly outside
"Yea" I put my feet down out of the chair and grabbed my purse and over night bag that I had from staying with Cami the night before
He held opened the door and took the overnight bag out of my hand
"I can— I know you can, but I got it" he cut me off as we walked out the door and he locked it proceeding to walk ahead of me and opened the car door for me helping me get inside his G Wagon
He waited until I had my seat belt on and shut the door then got in and placed my bag in the back
He left out of his driveway closing the gate behind us with the button as well as the garage and we left to head to the baby stores since I wasn't hungry
We arrived at Target and went immediately to the baby section we picked out a grey crib and a cute little plain carseat with a stroller then went on to baby clothes
"Look at this" Dame had the biggest smile on his face at the shirt reading daddies drinking buddy
"That is cute" I smiled putting it in the cart
I continued to look and pick out a few gender neutral onesies and socks to match
"Aye look" he said showing me a bunch of cute little onesies with different sports balls on them
"You don't even know if we're having a boy or girl, stop just picking up boy stuff" I playfully rolled my eyes at him
"Man all we have is boys in our family you are blessed if you have a girl, we only have 1 to 2 girls every generation and it's never been on my dads side of the family " he snatched the outfit out of my hands putting it in the cart making me laugh
I genuinely needed that laugh, I haven't enjoyed being pregnant not one bit. I can't do anything for the shop until they get done renovating it and painting
I'm not talking to my parents or my brother because he doesn't know how to mind his business and i don't want him causing problems between Dame and I , all I have right now is cami, Dame and his family
"Fine we can keep it, but we should go so we can go see whatever you wanted to show me and make it into our appointment in time" I put in two last pairs of socks
"You right" he started pulling the bottom end of the basket and we headed to check out
He put everything heavy inside the car and let me put the bags in
We got inside the car and he drove for a little before we stopped at a light
"You trust me?" He asked and I nervously laughed
"For the most part" I shrugged. The night we met he saved my life due to who my brother was
Plus his family treated me as their own since the news got out and they've protected me like I was theirs
He placed on a blind fold and everything went dark I felt his hand interlock with my fingers
"Imma hold yo hand till we get there so you won't be scared if I move or touch you or whatever then imma open the door and help you out" he explained and I nodded
I felt more calm holding his hand then I ever have been in my life, it's like I knew I was safe and just completely comfortable with him
10 minutes went by of complete darkness I felt the car come to a stop and his hand slip away a few seconds later
The door opened and he helped me out of the car then positioned me where he wanted me to stand
"Imma take it off ok, but before you see it. This was my momma idea" I knew he meant that last part and wanted to slip it in there incase I took this the wrong way which made me nervous again
I felt him breathing on me as he took off the blind fold I slowly opened my eyes to a beautiful house
"What's this" I laughed nervously
"Ours" he held the keys infront of my face and I just froze
