Invisible Ties

In the gleeful voices, dancing with grace,
Of the smiling array, a joyful embrace.
I found the joy in a new portray,
A canvas of emotions in a bright array.

New yet familiar, like the old pain's refrain,
Of the aching heart, in memory's domain.
A connection to sorrow, a tale of old,
In the legend of a sleeping Beauty, untold.

Yet I decided to keep her at bay,
From the malicious depths where shadows may sway.
To shield her from the darkness within,
In the garden of dreams, our love would begin.
