the bats in no time, screeched and followed the noise of eddie's guitar. the screech was ear piercing and loud, but it alerted its other friends. the entire colony was gone, the teens huddled watching from under the slide.

"okay, it's working. let's go." nancy ordered, as they crawled out walking to the house.

this walk seemed so long. to sam it felt like she was walking a mile. a mile that could lead her to her death if she didn't play her cards right. in reality the walk was only about a minute or so.

nancy quietly opened the front door, careful not to try and catch vecna's attention. the echoing sound of eddie's guitar dying down as it was up to the group to finish up phase three.

the opened door revealed hundreds of vines surrounding the floor. there was not a single spot mainly taken over by vines.

"everyone watch their step. hive mind." nancy reminded them, leading the way into the house.

it was like a twisted game of hop-scotch. the group was weaving, hopping, stepping, jumping to try and make their way up the stairs and to the attic as fast at possible.

steve then led the group up the stairs, occasionally looking behind to make sure they were following his movements exactly. steve, successfully made it to the platform before the attic. he turned to help everyone to where he was, his touch lingering on sam a little longer.

"if this isn't the hub than i don't know what is." sam mumbled, earning a stunned sigh from nancy and robin.

nancy turned, giving a look to everyone, sam adjusting the gasoline bottles in her hand. steve helping nancy grab her gun. he pressed a finger to his lips to signal everyone to be as quiet as humanly possible as they approached.

as if on cue, another earthquake hit. steve immediately grabbing sam to keep her steady as robin and nancy leaned back to try and keep their own balance. to sam, it seemed like a warning to not disturb him. oh well, she thought.

as the shaking stopped, everyone let out a breath to calm their nerves. a wet squelching interrupting the silence. everyone snapping there attention to the tentacle that had now wrapped itself around robin's ankle.

more tentacles slithered towards her, picking her up and pinning her against the wall. robin yelping at the quick sudden movement.

"steve! sam! nancy!" she called out, as another tentacle slowly wrapped it's way around robin's throat.

the group ran up, nancy and steve both using their own weapons to try and cut the tentacles off. sam having no other choice, used her hands to attempt to pry the slimey things off of her friend.

and then, another tentacle reached out grabbing ahold of steve's axe yanking him back to the other wall. "steve!" sam yelled, looking over to her friend and boyfriend now pinned against the way getting strangled by a tentacle.

the next second sam turned around, nancy was now against a different wall. she was flat against it, a vine around her throat too. sam panicked, picking up steve's axe and hacking at the different tentacles.

but almost as soon as her friends had, she was now flat against one of the stair railings, a vine slowly making its way right around her own throat.
