It was silent for a moment longer before you heard shuffling and felt a presence behind you, that being Kai's. "Hey, it's going to be okay." He once again comforted you, reaching forward and grabbing your shoulder, tilting your body more towards him. "If it makes you feel better, I didn't want to become a Ninja either. I only did it to save my sister, Nya. However, after that, I learned to love my job." Taking your hands off your face, your eyes locked onto his as your gaze remained lost, trying to find something in his eyes.

With a simple blink and a sigh, you tilted your head to the side and turned away from the Ninja, a frown forming on his face. "Yeah, Cole really didn't either." Kai's frown deepened a little farther at the mention of his friend, but quickly wiped it off. The two of you were best friends, it's only natural you speak well of each other. "He came rushing home and started to explain everything in a frenzy before breaking down in a heap of exhaustion. He really wanted to become a Ninja and use his abilities, but he said he was worried about me. I guess I'm just worried too." You muttered, eyes staring at a hole in the wall of the train cart you were stationed in.

Kai was silent before he shifted down into a laying position on his back, his shoulder pressed against yours. "Yeah, most people don't choose to be heroes because they want to. Sometimes they do it because they have to." You hummed and picked out the dirt under your fingernails, trying to ignore the warmth the Ninja provided to your shoulder. "After all of this blows over," Kai couldn't help but snicker at the small pun he made, "you can then choose whether or not you want to stay. And if you want a professional's opinion, I think you make a pretty good contribution to the team." You blinked in shock and turned your head over to glance at Kai, the boy also tilting his head over to look at you.

You were both unbearable close, but neither of you moved, instead you both just opted to sit and stare. "So... how did you meet Cole?" Kai asked you, although he didn't want to hear the story that much, Cole repeated it often, he wanted to hear your side of the story. He also liked the sound of your voice, it was soothing for his ears to register, drifting in and out seamlessly.

Letting out a huff and a chuckle, you turned over and away from the brunette, now staring at the roof once more. "He was rock climbing, and he took a pretty nasty fall, close to my house. I heard him let out a scream of pain from my bedroom and ran out to see what made the noise. I found him sitting on our yard holding his knee, from there on I helped him with his wounds. Ever since, he always came back to me after he went rock climbing, we slowly became friends after that." The only response you got from the Fire Ninja was a hum and a nod of his head, one that you saw from the corner of your eye.

It was humbly quiet for a moment before you felt Kai shuffle a little, you watching as he readjusted his body to face you. "And what about your Elemental Powers? How did you figure out you had those?" You blinked and paused, your breath catching up in your throat as you remembered the dreams you've been having. It was funny how you were so used to the seeing's in the dreams that you brushed it off, but now that you were about to explain everything, it all felt heavy.

You shuffled and sat up, Kai soon doing the same as you both turned to face each other, knees touching as you sat criss cross. "You can't laugh or make any kind of reaction, because it's kind of stupid..." You mumbled, watching as Kai made a zipping motion over his lips before smiling and urging you to continue. "I found out in my dreams...? Like, I have these dreams where I see dead people and then I send them off on their way. That doesn't sound crazy... right?" You asked the male, worried as his reaction was one that you weren't expecting, his face morphing into one of disbelief.

It took Kai a minute to register what you had said before he shook his head and let out an airy chuckle, but you knew it wasn't him laughing at you, just processing your words. "Okay so, you're saying you see dead people in your dreams?" He asked you, raising his bandaged eyebrow up at you, watching as you nodded almost hesitantly. "Creepy, but kind of cool. I would've thought you were a little crazy until this whole ghost thing happened so..." You let out a nervous chuckle as you looked away from the Ninja, Kai's face heating with embarrassment.
