Chapter 146: Drinking with A 'Bad' Friend (Last Part)

"Yeah. The blue haired girl is pretty nice. I guess I'll try to talk with her again another time."

Lucas grinned as he drank his alcohol.

"That's right. She's much better than the other girl who insulted Ren despite never meeting him before."

Just like what Lucas had said, the last girl left with a much better attitude than the rabbit girl.

"Hey, if a woman won't cut it for you, how about me?"

"No, no, no. I'm much better than him, right?"

"By the way, you're Silver Wolf, right?"

The two girls from earlier seemed to have told the other patrons that we were not lovers and so, other patrons tried to talk with us one after another.

I kept on refusing their offer but this was starting to get annoying....

"......Zenon-san, can we get a private room? I'm sorry even though there are just two of us but..."

"I think it'll be better for the bar if you guys get a private room too. It seems there are some sort of exhibition nearby so there are a lot of young patrons today."

"Sorry about that. I'll see you later."

I didn't think of getting a private room because there were only two of us but I couldn't keep it like this anymore. When I asked Zenon-san about it, he sighed deeply before he gave us his permission. Certainly I also thought there were more young patrons than usual today. So, that was why. Zenon-san led us to the back of the bar and the two of us followed him.

"Haah... Sorry about that, Zenon-san."

"Don't mind. In fact, I've been watching you with admiration for staying devoted to your fiancé."

"Wai- Zenon-san! It hurts!"

Sitting down on a sofa in the private room, I sighed and apologized again to Zenon-san. In response to that, Zenon-san stroked my head hard since now he was taller than me because I was sitting down on a safe. Zenon-san was rubbing my head pretty strongly.

Watching me with admiration, he said... I guess it's understandable for him to say something like that given my old records...

"I know, right. If it was the old Sig, he'd definitely sleep with either of the first girls."

"I can't deny that."

I really can't deny that. In fact, he's most probably right.

I always went to this bar after I finished my quest and showed my face at the orphanage so I was always pent up. If their face was pretty much my taste, I'd certainly sleep with them.

"Man, I was sure you'd eat them up like usual."

"Indeed."

".......Zenon-san, what about your work?"

Just when did Zenon-san sit next to us? And why is he joining our conversation like nothing is amiss? Oi, old man, what about your work....

"I've decided to end my work for today and leave the rest to the other staff. It's a celebration for Sig's engagement so of course I want to join in too."

"Zenon-san, you're really acting as you please just like usual. Ah! I'm only paying for Sig's alcohol, okay?!"

"I understand that."

Since Zenon-san was actually the owner of this place, he actually didn't have any fixed shift. When we came over to his bar, he sometimes joined in our conversation and abandoned his work. It made me worried if he was managing his bar properly but this bar seemed to be pretty popular.

"Come on, come on! We're celebrating, aren't we?! Bottoms up!"

"No, no! Sig, I'm paying for you, remember?! If you want to drink a lot then please get something cheap!"

After that, we kept on drinking boisterously. I kept on asking for an expensive drink from Zenon-san while Lucas was on the verge of tears, screaming at me to get cheap alcohol instead.

"Ugh! My head hurts... I must've drank too much..."

I couldn't possibly bring the sleeping Lucas back to the orphanage after we drank until late at night so I got a room in a nearby inn and threw him onto the bed. I had drunk a lot too so I went to bed without even taking a bath first but... When I woke up in the morning, I was hit by a severe headache. I knew I had drunk quite a lot so I must be having a hangover. I should ask Ren to cast 'heal' on me when I meet him later...

"And here you are sleeping without a care in the world."

I glanced at the bed next to me and saw Lucas sleeping with a drool on his face. His face was pretty good but... I wonder if the people who were charmed by Lucas would feel turned off when they saw him now.

While we had stayed in the same room before, we never had that kind of relationship. I didn't want to embrace a rough guy like him and I didn't want to be embraced either. Lucas had told me before that he didn't want to embrace or be embraced by someone who was bigger than him too. Both of us didn't see each other in that light. That was why we could stay in the same room without getting worried of being assaulted while we slept.

For example if I were to sleep in the same room with another adventurer that was doing the same quest as me, I definitely wouldn't be able to sleep soundly. Because I couldn't count how many times I had been attacked in a sexual sense or another sense because they were jealous of my rank. Though depending on my mood, I'd just go along with it when I was attacked sexually.

"Hoam... I guess for now, I should take a bath first."

Looking at the clock on the wall, I saw it was already 08:00. I needed to go to the orphanage first to get Oscar and then I could go to Fer's place. Well, I should be able to get there at around noon.

Picking myself up from the bed, I went to the bathroom. This inn was not that expensive so all of the room here only had a shower, not a bathtub. It was still better than nothing though. At least I could wash off the smell of alcohol that got stuck on my body.

Once the smell of alcohol was gone, I could feel my headache dissipating. I guess I wouldn't need Ren to cast 'heal' on me at this rate. After feeling refreshed, I returned to the room. Lucas was still sleeping so I just left him as it was. I walked to take my magic bag that I had by the bed, took out a change of clothes and put them on.

I guess after I'm reuniting with Ren and the others, we're going to head off to Pedrell today? Or maybe we're going to stay here for a few more days?

We hadn't talked about it yet so for now, I decided to put on comfortable streetwear instead.

"Lucas! Wake up! I'm going to leave, okay?"

"Nngh.... Ah... I'm going to sleep for a little bit more. Sig, see you later. Ah, say hi to Ren for me."

"Yeah, I got it. See you."

After I finished getting dressed, I woke Lucas up. When I thought he was finally going to wake up, he closed his eyes again and limped down to bed again. He bid me farewell while slowly waving one of his arms to me.

I said goodbye back to him and fitted my magic bag on my thigh before I left the room.

"Here's the payment for the room. There's still a guy sleeping in the room. If he's not awake by evening then please wake him up."

"Alright."

I ate breakfast at the inn's restaurant then I paid for both my meal and the room's fee to the inn owner with my guild card. I drank quite a bit last night so Lucas's pocket must be pretty thin right now. I also asked the inn owner to take care of Lucas for me since he was still sleeping like a log. With this, everything should be fine.

"Now then... First, I need to go pick Oscar up."

I muttered to myself as I left the inn before I started to run. It had only been half a day since I last saw him but I was already dying to meet Ren.

I better rush now...!
