Chapter seventy-nine

"Finally, to my daughter, I want to say I love you more than words can express. You have brought so much joy and happiness into my life, and I am so proud to be your father. I wish you nothing but love, happiness and success in all your future endeavors. And to Charles, I'm forever thankful for you, for lightening up my daughter's world everyday, and for protecting and loving her unconditionally. Cheers to the newlyweds" he then said and smiled while wiping a little tear away. "Thank you dad, I love you" I said and went to give him a big hug. "Thanks Jos, it means a lot" Charles said and also gave him a hug. Hearing these words from my dad truly meant more than anything, I won't lie I got a bit emotional during the speech, but I managed to keep myself together.

We then all sat there talking waiting for the next meal, so in the meantime Charles took the opportunity to make hold speech now since it has to be one of the first. He rang on his glass and then stood up, which got everyone's attention.

"First of all I wanna thank everyone for coming today, to celebrate this day with my wonderful wife and I, it truly means a lot to us! Also before I get started I wanna thank you Jos, for being a wonderful father-in-law and for giving your permission to marry your daughter, I will always protect her and love her no matter what! Then also I wanna thank my best man, my big brother Lorenzo and my two groomsmen my little brother Arthur and my best friend Pierre, I love you guys! - And then to the most beautiful woman here, I wanna thank my wife. Mrs. Leclerc! god it feels wonderful to finally call you that! I wanna thank you for being you, you're my better half, my best friend and my universe.. Thank you for choosing me, and for being here for me and our little family everyday" he started to say before he took a little break. "Come on pull yourself together" Charles said silently to himself since he was already quite emotional, but so was I. There's just something in the air around a wedding day, all the love and beautiful words go straight into the heart and it's so emotional.

"You're the most generous, most beautiful, sweetest and fantastic person alive, I can't even believe you're real, and you're mine forever now. - I love this life we have built together, we have two beautiful kids together who make our day and life ten times better, and you are truly the best mother Elena and Matheo could wish for.. We travel the world together and we do everything together, because I truly know we are better together.. - I wanna thank you for being there for me every step of my career, I know my career is something else, and it requires me to be away a lot, but you're still there and that I'm very thankful for. You're always the first one to cheer me up after a bad race or qualifying, and you're very good at it, actually you're the best and only one that can do it properly. - I sometimes ask myself what would have happened if I didn't approach you that night in the nightclub, or the day I was so drunk and kissed you for the first time out of nowhere.. Would we be standing here today as a married couple surrounded by our beloved ones, I don't think so. So I'm forever thankful I took that risk, it was some awkward days afterwards I will not lie, but we quickly found each other and confessed our love, since then our love had just become stronger for each day! - I could talk all day about you, but I don't wanna bore our guests anymore, I just wanna tell everyone how amazing you are and how much I love you, because I really do. I love you, Olivia! Let's raise our glasses and make a toast for my wife!" He said and lifted his glass, so did everyone else.

"Thank you, you did so well! I love you!" I said and got up to give him a big hug, followed by a kiss, which everyone seemed to enjoy.

We then after the first two speeches, ate our next meal and it was delicious. When mostly everyone was done eating, Pascale held her speech, so did Vic and Lorenzo! All three of them were so beautiful, and like the others they went straight into the emotions, and warmed our hearts. Especially Pascales meant the entire world to Charles.

We had been sitting around the tables for quite a long time, we were still talking and everyone seemed to have a good time talking with the people sitting around their tables, that alone made me very happy! - "Oli, it's your turn to speak," Max whispered to me, he was so good at being the toastmaster! "Oh shit okay then, I'll try" I laughed and so did he. I don't have a problem with speaking in front of so many people, but I just want to remember everything and say everything without having to stop, if I get too emotional.
