Katie walked away from Chidi, trying to hide her nervousness that she always felt whenever she was around Chidi or Marquis de Gramont. Katie was nervous that Marquis de Gramont would get upset with her one day, which made her realize that she could easily be replaced with someone who was capable of doing her job without messing up and angering Marquis de Gramont.

Katie shook at the thought of angering Marquis de Gramont, knowing how cruel he could be. Katie knew that the marquis wasn't one who would show mercy to anyone who wronged him, even if he had spent time with them, before he gained all of the power he has now.

Katie quickly walked to the room where Marquis de Gramont was keeping Salem. As Katie was about to enter, she met up with another maid who was passing by.

"Need help Katie," Mariana asked.

"Marianna, what do you want? Don't you have somewhere else to be," Katie snapped on her.

"Is that any way to talk to someone who you hung around with along with the Marquis? We all used to be close friends," Mariana said.

"Yeah, and it's because of you that I'm stuck taking this job to help support my family," Katie snapped at Mariana. "Seriously what do you want?"

"I figured you could use some help in getting our lovely friend's fiancé ready for her big day. Now let's do this," Mariana said before walking over to Katie.

"No. I won't let you ruin this for me. You stay out here and clean whatever needs to be clean. I was told to take care of his fiancé," Katie snapped.

"Fine. I'll be waiting for you out here to finish with your new best friend, who will most likely throw you away once she becomes the Marquis' wife," Mariana said before Katie left her outside of the room

Katie silently hoping that Salem was in there reading a book alone. Katie entered the room, letting out a breath that she wasn't aware that she was holding in.

"Oh thank goodness. I was afraid that I couldn't find you in the room; or that you weren't alone in here," Katie said gaining Salem's attention.

"Why would I go and wander around the house, when I'm quite content with reading here in my room. Where else would I go," Salem asked

"You have a point. Anyway, I came looking for you, because I was wondering how you wanted your hair and makeup done for the wedding," Katie asked.

"Oh, I didn't really put much thought into that, if I'm being completely honest. If I'm being honest, I never really put any thought into a wedding let alone how I would want my hair and makeup done. I hope you don't mind me asking this, but would you mind surprising me with my hair and makeup? I honestly haven't put any thought into it," Salem said. "I'm used to keeping things simple and easy. I don't want to put you through any hard work. I want to keep it easy for you as well."

"Thank you for keeping me in mind. But I don't mind doing something elegant. Are you absolutely sure you want to leave the decision up to me to pick your hair and makeup style for your wedding," Katie asked.

"I'm sure. I can see that you aren't used to being put in charge. Why don't you take this time to practice doing things the way that you want? Don't be nervous about what you can and can't do. Go with your gut feeling. Don't be nervous about what to do. Do you want to do a little bit of both, then go right ahead. Don't be nervous about what Vincent will think about it. He's not the one making the decision here. You have nothing to fear Katie. It's just us girls here," Salem said in a reassuring way.

Katie took a moment to look at Salem, before many ideas popped into her head for what she could do before Katie finally envisioned the perfect look for the bride to be. "I have it. I know exactly the look that I can do for you on your wedding day. And you will love it."
