An apartment building burned in the night. Firefighters were running back and forth from the building, bringing victims to the EMTs standing by the ambulances and firetrucks. Police lined up behind the EMTs and firefighters, working to keep the bystanders from interfering. Suddenly, two people dressed in spider-themed costumes emerged from the burning doorway.
One of them is a male in a blue costume that had red sleeves, gloves, thigh-high boots, and a giant red spider on his back; and he had a hole through his chest. The other is a female clad in a red costume with a white hooded capelet that had a spiderweb motif, and her costume had many holes that showcased the wounds and bruises she sustained.
A boy with wild brown hair and orange bangs started struggling against an officer's arms. "Mama!" The boy screamed as he watched his wounded mother carrying his dead father.
"Lucas!? Keep away! It's dangerous!" His mother yelled at the child, who got himself free from the officer and ran towards his parents. She got a few steps away from the building, when suddenly, everyone heard a voice coming from inside the building.
"Mariko-chan."
The spider-themed Heroine stiffened at the voice as she looked behind her. Slimy maroon tentacles emerged from the burning entrance.
"Renji," Mariko said with venomous disgust. From the entrance a dark-haired man emerged with tentacles sprouting from his back, holding a dead schoolboy's severed head. He took a bite out of the head, throwing it away when he turned to address the spider-themed Heroine.
"Come back to me, Mariko-chan," the man said, almost like he was pleading desperately. "I promise I'll change, Honey. Please, just take me back--"
"No," said Mariko defiantly, laying her husband's corpse gently on the ground. "I'm done with you, Renji." At that, Renji stopped his pretense, donning an angry expression.
"Lucas," she called for her son as she took off her mask, who ran to her. Brushing her brown hair to the sides of her face, she had sadness in her eyes as she looked her child in the eyes. "Be good for me and Papa, okay?"
"W-What?"
Despite sensing Renji, Mariko ignored the tentacled villain slowly walking behind her, as she focused only on her son.
"Enjoy your life to the fullest."
"Mama, behind you!" Her son panicked, seeing the villain raise a tentacle.
Her tears fell, smiling even as she said her final words to her son. "... I love you, sweetie."
"MAMA!"
Suddenly Mariko threw her son to the EMTs, jumping over Renji and avoiding his tentacles narrowly. Before the depraved villain could attack again, she grabbed him and threw him back into the burning apartment building, bringing the fight inside it.
