"Ugh. For once I am glad no one could see me..." Toru Hagakure admitted with a nervous laugh.
"Lucky you; I got it worse! I'm bright pink so I stand out a lot more!" Mina Ashido answered.
"I thought being the center of attention is your kind of thing?" Kyoka Jiro asked.
"Do I like being noticed? Yes, I do! Do I like being judged by everything I do? No, I don't!" The pink-skinned student answered.
As Class 1A talked with each other, the other courses came out; some students looked indifferent while others looked grumpy.
"It's kinda hard to get motivated when we're just here to make the Hero Course look good," said a girl from General Studies, to which one of her classmates agreed. A wild-haired boy in front of them smiled to himself, eager to crush the Hero Course.
"Now that all the competitors are here, it's finally time to start! So stand straight and look professional, because it's time for the opening speech!" Nemuri interrupted any further talk by jumping-in and playfully cracking her whip towards someone from Class 1A.
Katsuki Bakugo didn't say anything; he just walked towards the podium with a frown on his face.
"Who the hell decided Bakugou was a good choice to give the welcome speech?!" Sero exclaimed in shock.
"I just wanna say... I'm gonna win." Those were the only words that Katsuki Bakugou said for his speech in the Sports Festival.
The crowd just looked at the boy awkwardly before clapping their hands. Midnight slapped a palm on her forehead while the students just jeered and booed him off the stage.
"Why must you show contempt for everyone else even during an event like this?! You're representing us all!!" Iida chopped his arm repeatedly as he yelled at Bakugo.
"Not my fault you're all nothing but stepping stones to my glory." Bakugo was nonchalant as he replied, pointing a thumb down towards his opponents as he walked down, stoking their collective wrath further.
"Overconfident jackass!" A silver-haired boy from Class 1B named Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu gritted his teeth as he seethed. "I'm gonna crush him!"
The 1B student didn't notice two boys from a General Studies class looking at him and shaking their heads. One of them snorted to himself. 'Overconfidence? Wrong. The Bakugo I know would've been smiling like the Joker after setting everyone off like that.' He thought. 'He's psyching himself up. Pushing himself; telling himself he can't lose no matter what.'
Amidst the jeers of their opponents, the boys looked at the arrogant Hero student, then glanced at each other, smirking as they both thought of ways to curbstomp Katsuki Bakugou.
He tuned everyone out as the students lined up by the arch leading to the Obstacle Course.
'Not that it matters. I'm way past the weakling I used to be.'
He readied himself, his emerald-like eyes shining as the flames of his Quirk started blazing within.
'This time I'll stand above you.'

The moment the students finished preparing themselves by the tunnel leading to the Obstacle Course, the light turned green.
