Prolouge/ Character Introduction

"jalen we cant" I breathe out as I unattach my lips from his. His thick eyebrows furrow in confusion at my statement.

"why because of Devonta?" He says with his eyes searching my face. An expression of hurt is all over his face. My heart strings pull and hurt for being the cause of it.

"I don't him or the team to be mad at me." I shake my head as the words fall out of my mouth. I run my hands down my face. My eyes glued to my feet.

Jalen walks up to me and places my small hands in his large ones.

"Mani." He mutters causing my heart to race. He places two fingers under my chin and lifts my head up. His eyes are staring directly at mine.

"i don't give a fuck what people think about us bein' togetha'. He says his Houston Accent coming out slightly. "All that matters is what we think and thats all." He is right. Buts it's easier said then done.

He's a popular quarterback who's private is all anyone wants to talk about. Plus every girl wants him to be theirs.

I look past his shoulder to avoid making eye contact. Knowing if I look into his eyes and listen to what he has to say,I'll cave.

"we can't-" He shakes his head at statement.

"why can't we? huh?" He says removing his hands mine and relolcating them to the sides of my cheeks. "give me one reason why we can't be together. One good Fucking reason baby." I look directly in his eyes and release a breath.

"because your my brothers quarterback."
