"You need to manage them, father-in-law," I smiled sheepishly, and we started walking after waving at him teasingly.

"Not behind, but before," Arnav said when I was walking behind him.

"You need to guide me, walking before me all my life," he remarked, standing behind me.

"Not before, but beside," I commented, holding his hand.

"Let's walk together, guiding each other," I said with a smile. He also smiled as he kissed my knuckles.

"You are beautiful, baby," Pooja commented after helping me to get ready for the Haldi ceremony.
"Yup, you are too pretty to handle," Payal agreed, and they both hugged me.

I am wearing a yellow saree with simple jewelry which my mother-in-law sent to me.

"You both are also looking beautiful," I replied, looking at them. They wore similar yellow lehengas and looked so beautiful.

"You are the limelight today," they commented and took me out.

All the elders put Haldi on me, then my friends and Avi also put some. My mother had tears when she was applying Haldi on my face and dad had a proud smile.

After that, we all played with Haldi happily and danced crazily. Everyone played but our love birds, I mean Avi & Payal and Pooja &Ajay, enjoyed it a lot.

After having dinner, it's time for mehndi. Malini maa arranged people to apply mehndi on our hands. She even chose the designs, of course she let me select. She selected a few beautiful designs and asked me to select which one I wanted and I selected the designs I liked the most.

"Is it not completed yet?" I asked the girl who was applying mehndi on my hand.

"No, mam, it will take some time," she replied, and a yawn left my mouth.

"Aww, our bride is sleepy," Pooja teased me and everyone laughed.

"If you are sleepy this early now, how are you going to manage on your suhagraat," Ajay's mom teased me.

"Maa," I whined shyly, closing my eyes and everyone laughed.

It's not only a Mehndi ceremony but a lady's night as well. My mom sent all the men away and these ladies are talking without filters about their teenage days and weddings and of course, about their husbands too.

These aunties can crack more dirty jokes than us.
And if they started to roast their husband's or husband's side family, then no one can stop them.

"You started after me and it was already done," I scoffed, looking at Pooja and Payal sitting relaxed as they completed putting mehndi.

"Because we are not brides," Payal smirked.

"I will make you sit all night on your wedding day," I huffed.

"No, babe, your brother will do that," Pooja teased, and I laughed, giving her a distanced high-five.

"You both," Payal whined, making us laugh more.

"Don't you think Ajay will not let you sleep, either?" Payal said slowly and teasingly. Pooja's face turned red with blush and she bent her head down, embarrassed.

"You know, I saw a hickey on her neck a few days ago," Payal said and I raised my eyebrows asking her, "Really?"

"You two stop acting like saints," Pooja huffed.

While our mothers and all the ladies were busy gossiping, we got busy with our teasing.

While we were talking, my phone rang, and it's Arnav. He is video calling. Payal picked up the call, as I have mehndi in my hand and her hand was already dried.
