"I feel it coming, but
i'm holding it back."

FOLLOWING HER FATHER'S ADVICE, KATIE MAINTAINED DISTANCE from Jamie Tartt after their previous conflict. She devoted herself to her media internship, determined to contribute positively to the team in her own unique way.

As time went on, she continued observing the players from a distance, seeking to comprehend their dynamics. On a sunny afternoon while watching the team practice, Katie couldn't help but notice a subtle shift in Jamie's behavior.

Though he still remained distant and unwelcoming, he had ceased making snide remarks directed at her. Instead, he appeared more focused on improving his game. Encouraged by this slight improvement, Katie approached Jamie after one of their practices with hopes of developing a more amicable relationship.

"Hey there, Jamie," she greeted him cautiously. Jamie glanced up from tying his cleats with an expressionless face.

"What do you want?"

Taking a deep breath and pushing past her frustration, Katie replied: "I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your decision not to make any more negative comments about me. It may be small progress, but it means a lot."

Jamie nonchalantly shrugged, showing no apparent interest. "It doesn't matter to me, as long as you're not bothering me."

Despite Jamie's indifferent reaction, Katie couldn't help but feel a glimmer of optimism. Maybe with time, they could discover some common ground.

As the weeks went by, Katie made a continuous effort to immerse herself in the team's environment. She closely observed the players, attended meetings, and conducted interviews with the coaching staff. Gradually but surely, she started gaining their trust and respect.

One evening after an especially exhausting training session, Katie found herself in the team's lounge area reviewing footage on her laptop. Jamie walked past and paused briefly out of curiosity.
