Chapter 106: His Mysterious Control Over Secrets

The Zhou family's grain storage.

After the burly men "collapsed" under Zhou Yuanwai's command, he sat motionless in the same spot for a full hour, looking dazed.

The servant sent by Madam Zhou to find Zhou Yuanwai arrived at the grain storage and was nearly frightened into fainting by the scene before her.

Why was the grain storage empty?

With a trembling voice, she asked, "Master, what's happened to you?"

The servant's voice brought Zhou Yuanwai back to his senses. His voice trembled as he responded fiercely, "Help me up."

With the servant's support, Zhou Yuanwai rose unsteadily and proceeded to deliver a series of ruthless kicks to the "collapsed" men.

As he kicked and cursed, he yelled, "You bunch of fools, stop pretending to be unconscious."

"And my damn grain..."

The men playing unconscious couldn't help but think to themselves: How did all the grain in the storage disappear overnight? This doesn't make sense at all!

There must be something fishy about this.

Or perhaps, without their knowledge, Zhou Yuanwai secretly moved the grain from the storage, and now he's trying to turn the tables by accusing them of theft...

With this thought, the men couldn't hold back any longer.

As the first "awakened" man got up, the others followed suit.

The man at Zhou Yuanwai's feet had an agile mind and a rather volatile temper. Under the relentless kicks, he finally lost his temper.

He rolled up from the ground and couldn't contain his anger, saying, "Zhou Yuanwai, that's enough."

You can't keep kicking us without investigating the situation.

Isn't this a bit too much!

This outburst from the man made Zhou Yuanwai pause, momentarily forgetting his actions.

The man looked outside and then back at the grain storage. "Zhou Yuanwai, last night, my brothers and I were here in the yard the whole time, and nobody came in."

"Even if someone came to steal grain, there should be some evidence left behind, right?"

The man pulled Zhou Yuanwai aside, still seething. He pointed at the floor of the grain storage. "Take a look, Master. Not a single grain of rice is left, and there are no footprints. Why should we be blamed?"

"And if you don't trust us, you can check our homes."

"Furthermore, I have reason to suspect... this grain storage was already empty."

Zhou Yuanwai, with a pale face, stared at the man's unwavering words.

The man, observing Zhou Yuanwai's reaction, decided to deliver a harsher blow, "If necessary, we can take this matter to the authorities."

After saying this, he released Zhou Yuanwai, adopting an air of indifference.

Onlookers watched the man's actions and suddenly woke up to the situation.

The events had unfolded so suddenly that they had forgotten to think.

The words of this man, however, held the key to the whole affair.

Mr. Zhou sat on the ground like a pile of mud, saying, "Quick, go report to the officials, hurry..." He didn't finish his sentence and fainted.

In no time, news of the Zhou family's grain store being robbed spread throughout the streets and alleys.
