_____________
"U-Um..."

Peridot was still slightly shaking and sweating in both nervousness and fear, unsure of what was going to happen to her as she stood in front of a large black metal sphere, with a dented head on top of it and just simply staring at her with his own blue optics, which did not make her feel any better.

"S-SORRY TO BOTHER YOU!"

Peridot, deciding to just cut her losses and not risk her life, quickly turned around and started to run away as fast as she could, trying to get very far away from the black ball, who just simply stood there and watched her leave; once she was almost out of sight, the small head went back inside its own round body.

"Oh Garsh Oh Garsh Oh Garsh!-"

While Peridot was trying to run away and find safety, she suddenly felt the ground start to shake beneath her, which caused her to tense up and look behind herself; the fear she felt was unfathomable.

"OH GARSH, AHHHHHHH!"

While Peridot continued to run for her life, she quickly turned one of her floating fingers into a pair of blasters and started shooting some type of energy blast at the black ball that was rolling towards her; however, it did absolutely nothing to slow it down, much to her increasing horror.

"I HATE THIS STUPID FLOATING SPACE ROCK!"

Peridot screamed and shouted in both terror and rage as she ran away with all her might; though, due to her ranging emotional state, almost managed to miss the black ball suddenly stopping and poking its head out again to look at her again. She noticed this and wore a hopeful smile.

"H-HAH! CAN'T KEEP UP YOU STUPID CLOD DROID!?~"

Unfortunately, what the mocking Peridot did miss and not notice at all before it was too late was the fact that her feet were not touching anything underneath her, and when she looked to see why, all she saw was herself running off the edge of a cliff and into a very long drop below.

"Oh no..."

All Peridot could say, before suddenly dropping and falling downwards at incredible speed, she once again started to scream in fear, as she quickly tried to manipulate her floating fingers into miniature helicopter blades; however, her panicked state made it difficult for her to succeed.

"Come On, Come On, Come On, HURRY UP AND SAVE ME ALREADY!"

However, as soon as Peridot said this, and before she could hit the ground, she noticed that she was covered by a shadow, which quickly made her look up to see what it was.

"AHHHHHH-!"

All Peridot could manage to say, before she seemed to be crushed between the ground beneath her and the black ball from above.

"-HHHHHH, H-Huh?..."

Peridot, who had covered her head with her arms, suddenly stopped her screaming and slowly moved her arms away, noticing that she was safe from hitting the ground and being crushed; much to her extreme confusion.

"I-It saved me?..."

Before Peridot could question what was happening or look around the inside of the black sphere that had protected her from harm, a computer screen suddenly turned on and flashed her with its bright light, which startled her at first, but allowed herself to quickly recover once she noticed what it was.

"It's just like my finger screens..."

Seeing this type of technology, while not as advanced as Peridot was used to, was still somewhat comforting to see; so much so that she immediately forgot what had just happened to her a few moments ago and was 100% focused on what was on the computer, which was already showing her a lot of information that she was both familiar with and unfamiliar with.

"It seems to be running system diagnostic and rebooting itself."

What Peridot did know and recognize, from what she could see from the screen, was that it seemed to be reviewing itself and making sure the black ball, which she was able to read as an Omnidroid V10, was fully operational and all of its machines were working properly, including its many weapons, which definitely made the green gem shiver in fear.

'From what I can diagnose, this so-called, 'Omnidroid V10', seemed to be a type of droid meant for battle, if not starting a war itself...'

While still somewhat nervous to be inside a killer machine, Peridot couldn't help but still be very fascinated by what she was seeing; she might have seen more advanced pieces of technology before, but even she couldn't deny how amazing this Omnidroid V10 was to her. She even opened up her finger screen so that she could connect herself with the computer, to share and record all of its information that she had been given.

'I should definitely record my finding, even if my mission was a complete failure, this should be enough to not only get me back to my Diamonds good graces, but even improve the Homeworld quality of life!~... Though, that's only if I'm able to go back home...'

Just as Peridot was about to fall into a deep depression, her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a red light; she quickly looked behind her to see what caused it.

"What Is My Purpose?..."

Peridot read the sentence out loud to herself; so far, everything about the Omnidroid V10 seemed to be completely fine, all of its systems and features were working with little to no issues. However, what did seem to be missing was its purpose; it asked why it existed and what it should achieve. This honestly struck a chord with the intelligent crystal, as if sharing what she was feeling.

'It doesn't have a reason to be alive...'

Peridot frowned to herself, as she couldn't help but feel extreme guilt and pity for the Omnidroid V10; she almost related to his situation, though before she could continue feeling this way, a sudden idea came to her mind, an idea that turned her frown into a bright smile. She quickly typed on her finger screens, which also appeared on the computer itself.

"New Prime Directive: Becoming The New Guardian For Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG."

OK, well, Peridot doesn't seem the type to call the Omnidroid V9 as Kevin, but he will get that name soon, when he meets Steven lol.

(BTW just found out it's V10, not V9, sorry for mistake)
