Stefan knocks on the door. I see both Damon and Elena run to the door. I follow.
"Well?" Damon asks.

We all step out.
"It's not there."
"Who took it?" Elena asks.
"It's that teacher there's something off about him." Damon says.
"No. Somebody got to it before me." Stefan says.
"Who else knew it was there?" I ask. Damon turns to Jeremy.

"No. Damon leave him out of it." Elena says.
"Why, what's the big deal?"
"Damon." I say. We chase after him.

"So I heard you found a really cool journal from back in the day. Who else did you show it to?"
"Huh?" Jeremy asks.
"Don't ask questions. just spill."
"You're kidding me right?"
"Jere. Did you tell anyone other than Mr Saltzman about Jonathan Gilbert's journal?" Elena asks.
"Why is everybody do obsessed with that thing?"
"Who else did you tell?" I ask.
"Just that girl, Anna."
"The hot weird one?" Damon asks.
"Yeah." Jeremy says.
"Wait who's Anna?" Stefan asks.
"That's what I wanna find out. How do you know her?"

The phone rings and Elena walks off.

"I just know her She wants me to meet her at the grill tonight."
"Perfect. I'll drive come on." Damon says grabbing Jeremy.
"Okay." He says. I stand up following.

We get in the car and Damon drives to the grill.
"Where's Anna from?" Damon asks.
"I'm not sure."
"Does she go to school with you?"
"What's with all the questions?"
"Answer them." Damon says. I throw him a look.
"Damon's just curious. You don't have to answer anything." I say.
"She's homeschooled."
"Interesting."

We get to the grill and let Jeremy walk off while we go to the bar. He walks over to a girl. She doesn't look familiar.
"No." Damon mutters.
"What?" I ask.
"We have to go." Damon says to me. "Now."
"Okay." I mutter confused.

Damon pays and we walk out.
"Go back in and tell Jeremy that you and I are leaving. Don't say my name."
"Can you tell me what's going on?" I ask.
"Once you get back." He says.
"Okay." I mutter walking back in.

I find Jeremy and walk over to him and Anna.
"Hey, Jere. I'm not feeling very well so I'm gonna go back. Can you get home?" I ask. He nods.
"Yeah. Thanks." He says. I nod.
"Hi." Anna says to me.
"Hi."

I walk out and get to the car.
"Spill." I say. Damon taps his ear while driving off.
"She's from 1864. Her mother is in the tomb."
"She has to know how to get in." I say. Damon nods.
"That's what I'm going to do."

We stop at a house.
"Stay inside."
"No." I say.
"Yes. You're human, you can get hurt."
"I thought you said you were here to protect me." I say. He glares at me. Damon doesn't respond as he gets out. I do too.

I follow him as he opens and window. He climbs in and I follow.
"What now?" I ask closing the window.
"We wait."

"Can I ask you something?" I ask. He nods. "After all this time, it's still Katherine. Why?"
"Love."
"That's sad Damon." I whisper.

"Get back." Damon says moving behind the door. I move to behind the bed.

The door opens and Damon jumps out grabbing her neck. She's grabbing his too.
"Okay I give." Damon mutters. They let go.
"I was wondering how long it would take you to find me." She says. "I see you brought the human." She says looking over at me.

"How long you been here?"
"I arrived around half past comet watching you screw up every chance you had to open that tomb."
"How did you know about the spell?"
"I didn't say much back then. Which means I heard everything."
"So you've been here the whole time? Why are we crossing paths now?"
"I like to use others to do my dirty work."
"Like Logan Fell." I say.

"Oh yeah thanks for that by the way. Little bastard shot me and bit her."
"Logan was an idiot. We slipped him some blood when he started getting poser slayer with that compass. I needed the journal I couldn't let him die."
"What did you want with the Fell journal?"
"I thought it contained the location of the spell book. I was wrong. According to her journal, Honoria gave the grimoire to Jonathon Gilbert. And according to this he gave it to your father. Now you're gonna help me find it." Anna says.

She turns around grabbing a book. I move closer to see.

"Why would I help you?"
"Cause you and I both want that tomb open."

She hands it to Damon. He flips through and we both look at it. Damon closes it.

"Sorry I work alone." Damon hands it back to her grabbing my arm as we walk out.

"Cemetery time." I mutter. We walk to his dads grave but see Stefan and Elena already there.

"Well what do you know? This is an interesting turn of events."
"I can't let you bring her back. I'm sorry." Stefan says.
"So am I for thinking for even a second I could trust you."
"You are not capable of trust. You're here that means you read the journal and you were planning on doing this yourself."
"Of course because the only one I can count on is me. You made sure of that many years ago Stefan. But you.... You had me fooled." He says looking at Elena with hatred. "So what are you gonna do now? Cause if you try and destroy that I'll rip her heart out."
"You won't kill her."

Damon runs to Elena and grabs her.
"Damon no!" I yell.
"I can do one better." He says biting his wrist and pressing it against her mouth.
"Give me the book stefan Or I'm snapping her neck and you and I will have a vampire girlfriend."
"Let her go first."

"The book."
"I'm not gonna give this to you until she's standing next to me."
"The problem is I no longer trust that you'll give it back."
"You just did the one thing that ensures that I will."
"Damon, let her go." I say.

Damon nods and Stefan drops the book. Damon let's Elena go and she runs to Stefan who takes Elena.

I pick up the book and give it to Damon. He nods to me while we begin to walk out.

"This is enough for today, Damon. I'm gonna go home."
"I'll drop you off." He says. I shake my head.
"I need to clear my head." I say. I can't believe he was going to kill Elena.

"He was going to rip it." Damon says.
"She's my best friend, Damon. You threatened to kill her. You would've. I'm gonna go." I say turning around. I hear Damon sigh before he walks off.

I'm almost home when I hear a noise behind me. I spin around and see nothing. I turn back around and everything goes black.
