Yes, the song in this is mine, and i wrote a brand freshly new one for this chapter.

Daliah's POV

"First things first. We need to establish a game plan for how we are going to make this party happen." Abagail tells me as she sits in the stool next to me.

"Hi to you too." I tell her as I push my glasses up from my nose.

"Yeah, hi. Anyway, we have a short time to plan this. My parents are out of town this weekend because it's their 15th wedding anniversary. I love my dad's, but I want to throw a ragger party this weekend."

"Well then why do you need my help?"

"Because we're going to set you up with someone at this party."

"What? No!" I exclaim to her. I could not think of a more horrible thing to do. I don't want a partner. I don't want to have to rely on a man in my life, or a woman, I swing every way.

"Come on! You're 16, you only have one life girl."

"If I go..., will you promise not to control me all night and stop talking about this in my parents house?"

She squeals, and my brothers look at her confused from across the room. "You won't regret this, babes." She side hugs me before pulling her laptop out of her bag and onto the counter. "Alright, now let's get this project that's due tomorrow started."

"YOU HAVENT STRARTED!!" I yell at her. Why am I surprised? She always does this.

"Have you met me?" She says with sass, before starting the assignment, that was given to us 4 weeks ago, might I just add.

While she does that, I just sit there, and think of all the things that could possibly go wrong at this party that she wants to drag me to.

I mean, I want to go, but she can't know that. She can't know that there will only be one person there I want to stand awkwardly with and bob along to the music with. There is one person whom I wish to just exist with.

Anyway... I look up from my book and look at my brothers, who are, for some ungodly reason, building a fort out of the couch cushions. They are teenagers, not mature ones. They could not be any further from mature.

"Why are you doing that?" I ask them as I walk towards them.

"Because we can." Michael says as he pokes his head through the roof.

"Well can I come in?" I ask them.

This time Carlos is up and joining my deadly twin, "No girls allowed." He tells me, pointing at the writing on the sign he's holding.

"You guys both suck."

"Yeah, but that's what brothers do."

I mockingly say that back to him, and flip them both off before going back and joining Abagail at the bench.

We hear a car pull up in the driveway, and a car door opening and closing, before we see our dad come through the door, with, surprise surprise, two guitars in his hands.

"Hey dad." I say as I go back to my book.

"Hey, little flower. What are you reading today?"

He's called me little flower for so long. It's just come my nickname he's given me. To this day, I have not understood why.

"Just a book for school." I say as I hold it up to show him what I'm reading. My dad doesn't look like it, but he loves to read. I think I got my book worminess from him. He says mum made him read books all the time, so then she would have sometime to read and drink coffee with on the front porch on Saturday mornings. But I think we all knew he secretly knew he loves reading, and isn't doing it because his wife says so.
