"Lawrence, where- YOU! "What are you doing here, Nyx?" His looks shifted from irritated to horrified. My eyes widened as the puzzle pieces came together. In front of me was the curly-haired boy known as Valentino. Yes. Mr. Valentino.

"What like you follow us around now?"
He made fun of.

"No! No, I work here! Wait. So I basically know where the great businessmen live? Great. Just great!"

"Well, great that you two know each other," Lawrence mumbled, "so, after the lounge, kitchen, and bottom floor bedrooms are finished, proceed to the upper level?" Alright? The upper floor has three bedrooms. And. That's all!" Before leaving with Valentino, he smiled.

Really? Is that all? I stared at the chaos in front of me, unsure where to begin...

•••••••••

I moved the vacuum cleaner to the staircase after cleaning the bottom floor.
I gave up trying to carry the vacuum cleaner up the stairs.

I exhaled heavily, wiping my brow, "ugh."

'Need some assistance there, love," said a voice I didn't recognise. I spun on my heels and my gaze was met by a set of chocolate brown eyes. His massive shoulders turned to face me, his lips twisted into a timid smile. His smile concealed a painful secret. A pain I was well aware of, a pain of loss.

So, perhaps the rumours are true...?

"Um.. Yeah.. I actually do.." I let go of the handle.

He approached, held it in his hands, and nodded his head upwards. I mimicked his movements. I was playing with my hands, trying to recall his name, when it hit me: "Landon!"

"Hmm?"

"No. Sorry. Nothing."

"Nyx. Can I say something?" He inquired as he placed the vacuum on the final step.

"Yeah?"

"Sorry," he said, looking down, as I stared at him wide-eyed.

"For..?"

"For your loss." I nodded and dragged the vacuum cleaner into the first room.

"Oh and. Do the first two rooms. "I need to change and leave." I nodded once more.

I moved the vacuum cleaner to the second room instead of the first and closed the door behind me.

I was warmly welcomed by a flash pair of Calvin Klein underwear. I chuckled as I looked around for a plug source. Instead, a fully occupied bed entered my field of vision. A half-naked boy lay on the bed, his eyes closed and earphones in his ears. His legs and head swung right and left as he murmured song lyrics. I gave him an amused look, and a faint smile pulled at the corner of my lips. This image of him reminded me that no matter how famous this child was, there was still a little baby inside him, desiring to experience everything he could as a teen before growing out of it.

He reached for his earbuds, slid one out, and said, "hello?" Is that Mr. Cleaner?" good way to call your cleaner...

"Would you mind picking up my laundry and cleaning my room?" Thank you very much!" I chuckled at his demands.

"Hello? "Is anyone here?" He inquired.
"There is, indeed. It's also Ms. Cleaner." I murmured something.

When he noticed the cleaner was a girl, his eyes widened.

"Oh my shiz! He swore. He hadn't realised it was me. He jumped and groped for his shirt, attempting to conceal his exposed chest over and over

"F*ck no one told me it was a girl!" He muttered this as he dashed to the back of his bed.

"Damon. I am not a boy, and you are not a female who must hide your bare chest!"

I stated as I raised my hands in the air. His brow furrowed in surprise as his face poked out of the neck hole.
"WHAT! NYX! "What exactly are you doing here?" I laughed once more.

"Because I'm supposed to clean the house." Oh, and grab these..." I murmured this as I snatched a Calvin Klein knickers from the corner.

"Give it to me!" He jumped over the bed and pulled it from my grasp, which made both me and him chuckle.

"Don't be concerned! Damon! I'm not taking it with me anyway!" I laughed between my fists.

He was a strange child!

••••••••

I arrived home after a long and exhausting day of work. Exhaling deeply, I tossed my luggage to the side and leaped onto the couch, facing down.
I took out my phone and dialled the number that had become etched in my mind on the keyboard.

"Hello," his familiar voice said.

"Hey.. You have no idea how exhausted I am right now!" I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Hey Nyx! "What happened to love?" He enquired.

"What happened? Please don't ask!"

"Really? "How did your day go?" He didn't say, "Oh, how was your day?"
but in a serious manner.

"My day had been really exhausting. I mean, really? Is it even a house? It was more like a.....I'm not sure! Just a shambles!" I sighed, squeezing the cushion even closer to my chest.

"What..?" he coughed.

"It was!"

"So you don't like the house you clean?"

"No, it's not that--wait, wait, wait," he confirmed. "How did you find out I clean?" I let the cushion go from my grasp.

"What? You informed me! Huh?. Yeah, you told me!" He murmured.

"No, I didn't.." I tried to remember.

"Anyway! "You do that right?"

"I do. I got a new job as a cleaner.

"You did," he said. "Wow! Isn't that awesome? I mean, are they nice to you?"

"Nice? I suppose so. They're not bad."

"Do you...like...them? Do you like them in person? Have you made any friends with them? Did you know them before?"
He peppered me with questions.

"Wow, gee! Calm down! Yes. They're pretty nice. I wouldn't call them my buddies.Other than that, they're nice people."

"Well, we'll have to fix that!" He murmured.

"What? "What do you mean, fix?" His remark surprised me.

"Oh. Nothing! Nothing at all!"  He said.
