Why not start a conversation about the movie, and Gally's role?

The past days, I've thought about that; and now I'm doing it.

The "rules":
1) I write about what I think of Gally's role!
2) If anyone feels like it, comment below!

Gally is different from the book. I saw the movie first, then I finished the book a few days ago. If you compare Gally from the book, to the movie character (Which Will Poulter plays AMAZINGLY😍😍😍) a questions pops into my mind:
Is Gally depressed?

I mean, think about it. It's like... He shuts everyone out, he believes that there is no way out of the maze, he gets stung, he's been through the change; he's been through a lot, and becomes this tough guy.

When Thomas arrives, you see how much he "hates" him. But inside, he wants to protect him, protecting him in his own way. You remember the scene, where Thomas is about to go into the maze, just wanting to take a look? Gally came over, pushing him onto the ground, saying "We've got to stop meeting like this, greenie", saving his life.

But as Thomas starts to worry about Gally, Gally pushes him away, not letting him in, letting him help him.

I think, that maybe Gally is depressed? Maybe even suicidal?

What do you guys think?
