"Hey." His breath was cool against my warm skin.
"Hi." I say.I smile warmly at him. Him. I finally get to see him again. After the period of time of which I waited. It felt good to have him back.
He smiles back taking me in as I do the same.
His hair has grown longer, to his shoulders.Mine on the other hand. I didnt let grow out, it was to my neck in a Bob haircut.I had red tips and highlights.
He was buffer than last time. His muscules spilled from the shirt he was wearing.
His brown eyes twinkled in the sunlight. It was lower than 40° outside, yet I was warmed, from just his look.
"How are you?'' He asks, a cloud of his breath forms as he speaks.
I peer up at him. " I could be better." I say honestly.
"You?"
"I'm great now."
I laugh lightly something I haven't done in a while, not whole heartly at least.
He sits beside me on the swing.
We rock back and forth, quiet.
"Can I ask you a question?" I ask.
"You just did." I chuckle.
He looks at me. "Fine."
"Why'd you leave me?"
He sighs "I needed to take in reality. And I couldn't while looking at your miserable face."
"But 6 months Shayne?"
"I'm sorry, I know. Im a complete jerk for not coming sooner."
I nod. "Has your memory come back yet?"
I shake my head.
"Although I do remember something."
He perks his head at my comment.
"Something about....." I shrug.
"....I don't know kissing?"
He smirks at my suggestion.
"Yea there was a lot of that." He grins widely.
"Really? Could you help me remember? I've somehow forgotten." I ask shyly.
He leans in, still having that stupid smirk on his face.
I grin as his soft plump lips press against mine. Our lips move in sync.There was so much in that kiss. Life, death,sorrow,love.
And then something hard hit me, like a wave from the ocean.
I pull back lightheaded, from the buzz of the kiss.
"Babe? What is it?" Shayne asks me worriedly.
"Shayne!" I shout, I jump up from the swing. "Shayne! Shayne! Shayne!" I scream, I'm screaming now!
"The fight, the argument, the date!" I shout, enthusiastically.
"Pyper!" He shouts above my cries out of joy.
I stop to take his hand in mine.
I kiss him lovingly.
And more images fill my head.
"I remember." I whisper.
His eyebrows raise in understanding.
"Remember what?"
"I remember you."
