I sat on Leyah's bed texting T.J.
"Is Jaki here yet?" I ask.
"Nope." She say flicking through the channels
My phone vibrates. I unlock the screen. Message: T.J-Wyd?
*- Nun at Ley's house...u?
He responds immediately.
T.J- Laying down, thinking bout u
*- Loser :p
T.J- Only 4 u
*-Whatevs
T.J- What r u guys doin?
Before I can respond Jaki bursts through the door.
"Wassssup!" She asks.
Before we can mumble she interrupts.
" T.J's status. He updated it to TAKEN."
My eyebrows knit up in confusion along w/ Leyah.
"What? That's impossible!" Leyah stutters.
"And that's not all he posted: I want to be your favorite hello and your hardest goodbye. Be in my mind everyday."
"And Dominic's is now: complicated & Shaynes is: Taken. Still. I wonder if he got em a hœ cuz u clearly broke up with his a$$." Jaki states.
I chuckle. "Leyah what's yours?"
"Realize that the one they thought was their Knight and shining armor was actually an aßßole in foil."
I choke back a laugh. But failing horribly I double over the bed trying to catch my breath.
"Your so nice?" Jaki asks/comments.
"Its the truth." She speaks.
"Jaki yours?"
"I haven't updated one."
"Lazy,much?" I snicker.
" How bout you, smarty pants?" Leyah asks.
"Im looking for the right one to pick."
"Oh me and Jaki will help."
They pull out their phones. I search up relationship statuses.
I click on one of the links. As I scroll down giggling and showing cute and stupid ones I finally find the one.
Well Jaki did but I liked it so much im taking credit for it.
I updated it immediately feeling the need to share.
My phone vibrates 4 times. I try to cover up the sound that escaped from my phone's speakers.
Jaki looks up. Peers at me and diverts her gaze to Leyah. "Tyiesha (ty-e-sha) is on her way."
She nods. I let out a shaky breath. They didn't hear.
"So Pyper who were you texting?" Leyah asks pointing out my mistake.
"No one."
"Then let me see your phone."
"No." I say cooly.
"I bet its Shayne." Leyah gets up and walks over to me.
And gestures toward my phone.
I shake my head no.
And she easily snatches it out my hand before I could lock it.
She walks over to Jaki with it. There wasn't a point to try to get it back.
They go through my phone. "Tasman, Iris,Deuce,Kato....Who's Kato?"
Jaki asks.
"A friend."
She looks back at the device.
"Go to T.J's messages since their recent." Leyah pitches in her two cents.
They're silent looking over the conversation.
When they do come back to earth I snatch my phone back and plug my ear phones blocking them out. I look at the new texts T.J texted.
And my face heats.
T.J-Would u like to be my girlfriend?
T.J-If you don't that's cool.
T.J- I'll like u no matter what tho.
T.J- I'm stupid I'm sorry I k u jus got outta relationship.
T.J- will u at least give me a chance?
T.J.-Pyper?
I text back quickly.
*-Meet me @ the movie theater.
I get up ready to leave.
"Where do you think your going?" They ask.
"Out."
And I leave.
