The weekend was finally here which meant no school and I have the day off from work. Today was also the day Mrs. Carter posts the candidates for her internship. I got up from the mattress I shared with Grace and got ready.

You have a collect call from Lake County prison from "Tracy". Would you like to accept the charges. The automated voice said
Yes. I answered
Hey baby sorry I haven't been coming to check on you. Tracy said
Where's Cori? Is everything ok? When can I come home? I asked
I can't see you anymore they're gonna put me away forever. I just called to say goodbye. She said and hung up the phone.

My mom is in jail and I have no idea where my sister is and now my only hope is this internship. I told her

After looking at every Cori and Tracy profile on Facebook it was time to watch Mrs. Carters live stream.

So I'm not gonna hold you all anymore. We're gonna go from last to first and this was based on gpa, determination, and skill. Third place goes to Journey Davis with a gpa of 3.5. She said hold up the picture

Second place goes to Vanessa Collins who had a gpa of 3.9. A girl said but she had Vanessa's picture in front of her face

And first place goes to Cameron Knowles with a gpa of 4.6 congratulations we can't wait to see all of you tonight. The little girl said happily she looked to be about Grace's age

We got the internship omg my mom is gonna flip. Vanessa said

Don't get too excited we all have to meet with her tonight and apparently her family is going to be there as well. Check your messages. I told her

I think I might actually pass out it's at her apartment and we have only have three hours to get there. She said and I used the chat section on the webpage to contact Dr. Carter

Immediately after we called out the winners Cori left the room. It's been so hard to connect with her and I don't know what to do. I was busy getting everything ready for the party when I got a notification.

A few moments later the elevator opened and the first one out was the adorable little girl from last night. She was dressed in a pink floral dress and her hair was braided into two ponytails with beads on them. After came Vanessa who held enough excitement for everyone. Last was Cameron who stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Cori.

I-I... what are you doing here? Cameron asked with tears in her eyes

Dr. Carter is our real mother and we were looking for you. I miss you so much. Cori explained

Come on I have to show you our sister her name is Brooklyn. Cori said dragging Cameron with her down the hall

She went to down the hall but she'll be coming back soon. Do you want something to eat? I asked

Yeah but I need Cami she's the only one that knows what I like. CAMI... CAMI. She screamed out

Grace what's wrong? Veronica asked holding her tightly

I-need-Cami. She cried

What happened? GRACE. Cameron yelled as she rushed in

Cami I can't breath. Grace whispered

V get my bag. She needs her inhaler. Cameron said and Veronica quickly got the inhaler

Cameron can you hold her head up. I asked quickly taking the inhaler

Gracie you have to breath. Cameron said and soon she let out a painful cry

I want to go home Cami. She cried holding onto her

Hey you scared me. Since when did you start have asthma attacks when I leave you? Cameron said

I was scared and Vanessa went to the bathroom then I couldn't find you anywhere and I kept asking but nobody knew where you went so I asked the lady and she said you went down the hall. Grace said

Remember what you're supposed to do when you get scared and you can't find me or Vanessa. Cameron asked

Take a deep breath and find my way home. Always keep at least two inhalers just in case I loose one. Grace replied

Mrs. Carter it was nice to see my sisters but if I leave New York then there will be no one to look after Grace and she needs me. Cameron said and I could feel the tears run down my face. I guess Cori didn't tell her everything.

Can we speak privately? I asked her and she followed me into a bedroom

Please don't try to change my mind. She said

Listen Cameron I admire you for taking care of Grace but I can't let you stay here anymore. I said and she stood there shaking her head

You don't understand my mom is taking care of me. She yelled

Cameron I'm your mom and I don't want to be away from you. Just standing here is hard for me. All I want to do is hold you in my arms. I told her

No I can't leave I shouldn't have even signed up for this. She said before taking Grace and leaving without another word
