Chapter 1: Last First Day of High School

Start from the beginning

"I don't get how those past girlfriends could deal with you, I mean you're well you." I said while taking a small sip of my orange juice.
My dad then walked in while looking at my brother and shaking his head then walking up to me and kissing my forehead and making himself some coffee which he always does every morning, and afternoon, oh and also at night before bed.

My dad is a marine biologist. And he sometimes takes me to work with him when he goes out of the country like the Bahamas which he took me too a week after junior year ended. Which was the beginning of summer. His job is pretty cool to him at least. It sometimes gets boring.

"Where's your jacket?" My dad asked while leaning his back against the coffee counter.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled. Then looked at my phone time. 7:45 a.m. That means I have exactly an hour and forty five minutes until senior year begins.

My mom then walks in and winks at me as if she's approving of my outfit then kissing my dad on the lips while adjusting her glasses. I have glasses too but I prefer to wear my contacts. I only wear glasses when I'm at home.

"Love you guys, bye." I said while grabbing my car keys and leaving the kitchen and opening the front door and then leaving for school.

"Carly Lukens." I said to one of the women that were handing out class schedules for seniors.
I really hope that I at least get some of my friends in my classes. It would be really boring without them.

She was then looking through the stack of schedules with her too long of fake nails. Which kind of grosses me out because who's nails would ever be that freaking long? After she handed me my schedule, I moved out of the way and looked at my schedule.

1- AP Comparative Literature
2- AP French
3- AP Psychology
4- Calculus
5- Dance Tech 4
Lunch
6- Early Childhood 4
7- Yearbook

I nodded to myself. These classes sound pretty easy. Keely and my other best friend Naomi came up to me and we looked at our schedules.

"OMG we all have lunch together! And I have 2nd and 6th with you Carly! While I have you Naomi for 4th and 1st with you!" Keely squealed.
I chuckled at her excitement about all of this while folding up my schedule and placing it in my back pocket of my shorts.

While we were walking to our lockers, then a muscular arm bumped into me, then I looked up and sighed. It was the arm of Drew Rollings. Aka the school's player for not only lacrosse but a player of girls as well. He gave me a glance then kept on walking with his own group of friends. Well then, that was rude. He didn't even say sorry.

"Ugh guys I really don't want to go to class." Keely whined while we all opened our lockers.
I just let out a short scoff. We have a hot French guy as a teacher for our French class. She shouldn't be complaining.

The bell then rang, and we all parted our ways, well I did because they have 1st period together, lucky for them. I then walked into AP Comparative Literature with Mrs. Whore, I mean with Mrs. Wholsteen.

Then it was 3rd period. So I looked up at the SMART board and it had a copy of the seating chart on it that was from the teacher's computer. I'm guessing that she used the projector that's attached to the ceiling to show the class where they sit. Some fine technology indeed for a school, let alone for a classroom.

The desks where in twos. So I'm in the middle section, and seated behind the two front desks. Much to my disappointment they were two stupid jocks. By the names of Connor O'Day, and Lance Stevens. Connor sits in front of me. So I took my seat and waited for class to begin.

Once the bell rang, everyone was in there seats except for the two jocks that are seated in front of me. I forgot who sat next to me. But whatever. It's not that important anyways.

"Ah the trouble trio has finally graced us with their presence." Mrs. Moore said shaking her head.
Then a brown curly haired jock sat in front of me while some black haired guy sat next to him.

While the last person I ever wanted to see again sat right next to me. I can feel the irritation radiating off of his muscular body.

"So you're my partner?" I asked with clear disappointment in my tone.

"Yeah I guess so butterfly." He said letting out a small chuckle.

"These are your seats for the whole school year." Mrs. Moore sadly stated while handing out syllabuses.

This will be a very long school year, for me, Carly Noelle Lukens.

"Ugh why him!?" I screamed into my pillow.
During the class, he kept looking at me as if he wanted me to talk. But I refused to and just kept doing my work.

I don't get why he would just be rude then want to have a conversation with me. Shit, at lunch he just kept staring at me, his table was next to mine and he just kept looking at me. Like he needs to seriously leave me the hell alone. I clearly don't like him. Which means that I don't like his existence, he just needs to get that in his head.

"Hey sweetie, um I was wondering if you want grilled chicken salad for dinner." My mother said in a kind and gentle voice.
I sat up on my bed then nodded at her while flashing her a smile.

She nodded then left my bedroom while closing the door from behind her, while I stood up and got my phone and Instagramed my picture with Keely at lunch in front of the statue and put as the caption "Last First Day of High School." Then posted it.

"Hey mom wants us to set up the dinner table." Marcus said while popping his head in the doorway looking at me impatiently.
I sighed while following him out of my bedroom and walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Bowls or plates?" I asked my mom while standing on my tippy toes while shooting her a quick glance.

Marcus was talking to my dad about goodness knows what. Probably about sports. Typical men. Which I don't get why they are so obsessed with some damn sports. I guess it's a guy thing, and that's all I'm leaving it as.

"Bowls. It's salad sweetie." She chuckled while adding cut up tomatoes on top of the salad.
I sighed and grabbed dark green squared bowls and then walked into the dining room.

As I started to set the table, Marcus came in. And put down some napkins that are in a triangle shape.

Once we finished, then my parents came in, my dad was carrying a pitcher of water while my mom was carrying a huge black circular bowl and then after she set the bowl down and then walked out and came back with a black plate with dinner rolls on it.

"So how was your first day?" My mom asked while I was putting lettuce in my bowl and then grilled chicken on top of it along with some tomatoes.
I really don't want to talk about Drew. He's a jerk. And my brother would blow up if I blabbed.

So I just poured some fat free ranch over my salad while putting it back down then grabbing my fork. And began eating.

"It's okay, I mean I basically have all AP classes like last year." I said with my mouth kind of full.
I always been having AP classes like I somewhat had mentioned before.

My mom and dad smirked at me, while Marcus just rolled his eyes and ate his salad.
