"We are already falling behind! Can't you see that?! That's why I'm saying that I shouldn't take a break!"
"A break is only fifteen to twenty minutes long! I can still--still do the work in those minutes!"
Sheldon groaned, "I won't lose those minutes. Those minutes mean more to me than my health."
"Don't you dare say that. You being healthy means more to me than those stupid minutes!"
Sheldon looked down at his laptop, and sat down once again and continued typing up his reports.
Angela stormed toward his table and slammed the laptop shut. Sheldon's fingers didn't get stuck, but it scared him and he got angry when she did that. He stood up again and this time he cowered over her. The only thing standing in between was his desk. "Was that necessary?!" He yelled.
Angela had to look up at him, and nodded. "I had to! Who was going to stop you?! You don't sleep, I haven't seen you eat, and you don't get fresh air. This is unhealthy, Sheldon!"
"This has to be done! I care more about this than anything! Why is it hard for you to understand?!" His voice becoming louder by the second.
"Don't argue with me like this, I just want you to be healthy. Go outside and get fresh air." Angela calmly pleaded.
"No! These reports need to be done, and this theory as whole needs to be done! The worst part is that if this is not a true element, we would have to start all over to scratch!"
"And I'll check it for you. We'll check it together. We'll even get our friends to help us check. Just please, take a break."
"No! I won't!" Sheldon yelled.
Angela gave him a pleading look, "Do you know that I care about you?"
Sheldon stayed quiet, and still looked down at her.
"Do you know that I care about you?" She repeated.
"Yes."
"Then why do you argue with me when you know that I care about you?"
"Because there's no reason to! I never asked for you to care for me! I can take care of myself!" Sheldon yelled, waving his arms.
"Well, that's the problem! You're not taking care of yourself!" Angela yelled back.
"Why should you, out of all the people in the world, tell me about taking care of myself when you yourself can't either?"
Angela gave him a puzzled look, "What are you talking about?"
"You think I don't know?" Sheldon said, putting his hands on his waist. "I know you smoke, Angela. You smoke and you smoke like no tomorrow!"
Angela stepped back, terror written on her face that he found out. "H-H-How?" She stuttered.
"About a month ago, you dropped your backpack, in my office, and it fell out of it. So, you shouldn't be talking!"
Angela crossed her arms, clearly hurt, "OK, we can talk about that later...but, what really matters is you. You need---"
"Me? Me?" Sheldon scoffed. "You smoke a whole pack a day, Angela! That's unhealthy!" He mimicked her. "Everytime I ask you to take a break, I go through your bag and find a new refill of the cigarettes the day before!"
"I have to." She vaguely answered.
"Oh, you do? Do you have a Doctor's note?" Sheldon sarcastically asks.
Angela felt attacked, and was so hurt.
"Exactly. You can fight with me all day, but I'll just keep winning."
Angela glared at him, "Why should I be the one getting the jabs? The reason for all of this is because I just wanted you healthy and here you come picking at my flaws!"
"Because smoking can kill you!" Sheldon yelled.
Angela looked him in the eyes, tears welled up in hers, and said:
"So?"
Sheldon didn't have that angry glint in his eyes anymore, they softened and turned a lighter shade of blue. He felt his shoulders go limp and he dropped his arms to his sides. He felt like he was punched in the stomach.
"Why...why would you say that?" Sheldon asked, hurt clear in his voice.
Angela looked down, and put her arms around her stomach. She didn't answer him.
Sheldon still kept his eyes on her, and went around the table. He went close to her, and moved her arms away from her stomach, and made her look up at him. Her face had a few tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Why?" He repeated.
"Let me go." She whispered.
Sheldon hadn't noticed that he was holding her forearm. So, he did.
Angela grabbed her backpack and stormed out of there, giving him a sorry and hurt glance. Sheldon stayed frozen in his spot looking at the door, and just remembered something.
"Let me go, Sheldon."
That was what Amy last said to him before she walked out of his life.
