A Black Cat

Chapter 1

When humans want a cat, they want one with long fur and blue eyes. Ideally with white fur.

Where Miss Williams lived, there were many cat lovers. She was a big cat lover herself, owning five cats. Two of them were pregnant. 

People didn't like Miss Williams. They accused her of practicing witchcraft. People wanted her gone for good. But as one of her cats gave birth to five beautiful kittens, everyone suddenly wanted to come to her house for a visit. 

Every single kitten was covered in fluffy, white fur, slightly more gray at their paws and the tips of their tails. Their eyes were as blue as the sky was on a sunny day.

Four weeks later her other cat, called Holly, gave birth to three kittens. People were absolutely terrified when they saw her kittens. 

They didn't look anything like their mother. Holly had short, gray fur with shimmering green eyes. But her kittens were pitch black.

When the neighbors first saw the three little kittens, they ran out of the house in terror. They immediately informed the police, saying there was a witch in their neighborhood with three black cats.

Miss Williams was angry. She didn't want to face the trials women face when they are accused of being a witch. She didn't want to be hung or burned at the stake. 

As much as she loved her cats, she didn't have to think for long before kicking the three black kittens out of her house. 

The kittens cried for their mother, but Holly couldn't do anything either. Miss Williams had grabbed her by her neck fur and dragged her back into the house against her will. Holly tried everything, she bit and scratched Miss William, but the woman just wouldn't let go. 

Kimba, Ash and Millie, the three black kittens, frightened watched their own mother forcefully get dragged away from them back into the house.
