I just bumped into Paige Bueckers. I had this moment planned out for weeks now I knew that we were gonna be living in the same building because we were both athletes. She knew I was going to come to this school we had been talking about it since January of the sophomore year we had both committed and were very excited to go to the same school.

Now I know that it didn't mean anything to her and that she had been planning on breaking up with me for a while. Pushing away the thoughts of Paige I sat down in the back of the school library and pulled out my laptop.

After about two hours of doing my creative writing homework, I heard a buzz come from my phone.

Ry

Ry
Paige came by looking for you
She said that she needed to talk to you

Ivy
I knew she would come by
Is that all she said?

Ry
Yeah before I slammed the door in her face

Ivy
Thank you sm for that ry

Ry
No problem
I'd say if you want to avoid her try to get back soon

Ivy
Okay I'm packing up rn
I love you

Closing my phone I started to pack up my things and zip up my bag when I turned around I saw that the library was practically empty quickly checking the time I realized it was now almost 6 pm and the library would be closing soon.

Walking as quickly as possible back to my dorm room I slowly let my mind wander back to Paige. Even year's later I still found it hard to believe that she had dumped me to go to college.

I've tried many times to see it from her perspective but as much as I tried I could never understand. I understood the reasoning but I never fully understood how she could go through with it while I stood there helplessly begging for her not to leave me.

I felt shivers run up my spine when I remembered how horrible that last week of school had been. Me constantly avoiding Paige and everyone asking me what happened and if we had broken up as if it wasn't incredibly obvious that we had.

Unlocking the door to the dorm felt unreal. I was finally an adult living on my own without my parents. My mom wouldn't be there anymore for me to cry on. When I stepped in I noticed rileys snores coming from the couch

Since we had the athlete building we had rooms that resembled a living space and weren't the size of a closet. I dropped my bag as soon as I entered my room and took out my phone again to text Hailey what had happened.

I had met Hailey through Paige during my sophomore year and unlike Paige, she had stuck around and we had continued to be friends.
