"We have an anomaly."
Miguel O'Hara stared at his fifteen year old apprentice, Cassidy Sweet.
"The hell does that have to do with me?"
"Don't give attitude."
"What do you expect?" Cassidy narrowed her eyes at Miguel, angry.
"I haven't seen Miles in a year. You let Gwen go to his dimension, no problem."
"That's not your concern."
"But I've known him as long as Gwen has, so why can't I-"
"JUST LISTEN TO ME!"
Miguel yelled, his fangs appearing.
Cassidy glared at him, the light from his screens reflecting on her eyes.
"Fine. What is it, boss?"
"You know I didn't mean-"
"Just cut it out and tell me. You're not my dad."
He widened his eyes, and his stoic, serious expression fell for a moment.
Then it returned to normal.
"There's been an anomaly residing in Earth-42 for a while. It hasn't caused much trouble, but I've gotten Intel that this one in particular doesn't even belong to that universe. At least, I don't think so."
"So why should I care?"
Miguel sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering before he continued.
"She's a variant of you."
