Friends not to be
I've lost a friend, whom I never had
I don't know what we were.
But, we were neither friends
Nor strangers, ever.
We used to talk and debate
on random topics till no end,
But we never spoke like friends.
We too talked over calls and texts
But on our mobile none of us
Saved each other's contacts.
Everyday I thought that
Today might be the day
And something comes up
To take that moment away
For us to speak without hesitation
After receiving enough invitation
It was my arrogance perhaps
That I hadn't spoken to that
Known stranger till now
it's the time, I can't speak anyhow
Because that known stranger
Got too far from my life
I should have spoken within the time
So that I could be in touch,
Even after being out of sight
