i'm out of my head

the next day, melissa had her day off while kate supposedly went to work at the dingo. she was glad she could finally take a break from having to clean up from people's messes.

melissa was sitting on the couch with dog while she was eating breakfast and watching tv. "dog, do you think sodapop belongs to kate?" she asked, placing her plate on the breakfast table. but melissa couldn't help but think about sodapop.

oh, how handsome he was with his chiseled jawline and piercing blue eyes, he exudes an air of confidence and charm. his perfectly styled yet greasy dark brown hair falls effortlessly, framing his face in a way that accentuates his strong features. his smile is contagious, revealing a set of pearly white teeth that light up any room he enters. many people thought of his looks like as if it were from a movie star.

standing tall, his lean and athletic build is evident in the way he carries himself. his broad shoulders give him a commanding presence, while his slightly toned arms hint at a somewhat active lifestyle. there's a certain grace in his movements, as if he effortlessly glides through life with an innate sense of poise.

his sense of style is impeccable, always dressed in tailored clothing that highlights his physique. whether he's wearing a well-fitted suit that accentuates his broad chest or even a casual ensemble that showcases his effortless cool, he could effortlessly pull it off any look with a touch of sophistication.

but it's not just his physical appearance that makes him attractive. his warm and bubbly personality draws people in, making them feel instantly comfortable in his presence. he possesses a quick wit and a clever sense of humor, effortlessly making others laugh with his witty remarks and playful banter.

beyond his good looks, he has an innate kindness and compassion that shines through in his actions. he's always there to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear and tries to listen the best he can, which makes those around him feel valued and appreciated. his charisma and natural ability to connect with people make him an instant favorite in any social setting. his personality is also what makes him attractive

in essence, sodapop is the epitome of both external and internal beauty. his striking appearance, combined with his magnetic personality, creates an irresistible allure that leaves a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

"oh dog if only i was with him. not kate she gets too cranky and controlling" melissa smiled to herself as she began to zone out. dog started to gently hit her with his tail so that she could take him on a walk and so that she wouldn't zone out. "what is it dog?" she asked. dog ran towards the door which implied that he wanted to walk. "alright dog i'll get the leash" she smiled. dog barked, not wanting to get on the leash. "fine" she giggled.

once they walked out, melissa decided whether or not she should go to the DX and see sodapop while he was working. but she decided not to, not wanting to feel like a stalker.

suddenly she heard giggles from a familiar person and someone else's who she couldn't recognize well. melissa walked towards a fence where the giggles kept getting louder and louder. dog walked towards a ladder and barked while he wagged his little tail. "thanks dog" melissa grinned, her curiosity leading her to find something difficult to comprehend.

melissa did her best to hide on the fence without getting caught. she saw that kate was hugging another boy while they giggled and ran around, possibly at his house which also happened to be one of the rarest times to see kate cranky. melissa put a hand over her mouth to restrain herself from gasping.

her heart sank, feeling a mix of confusion and betrayal she had never seen kate as the type to cheat on a boy especially when sodapop was kate's very first boyfriend. she was unsure of what it meant for their friendship, wondering if she could ever trust kate. as she tried to process her emotions, she felt a few taps on her leg then looked down to see sodapop.

"hey, you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine concern after looking at her as if she had seen something terrifying. melissa mustered a weak smile and nodded, appreciating his kindness in this vulnerable moment. melissa walked down the ladder with the help of sodapop and they put the ladder back where it was.

"is this your dog?" he asked as he gave dog a little pat on the head. "he's my dog, but he's also like a child to me" she smiled. "what's his name?" he asked. "dog" she replied. "that's creative" he said with a giggle. "i could say the same thing about you, sodapop" she giggled. "hey, i don't know what exactly was goin' on with my parents" he said, putting his hands up in defense.

"i'm curious to know how you can deal with kate when she's really cranky" she said as they began to walk together to her house. "i really can't, she started flirting with me while i was working and well she probably thought i was flirting back even though i was just tryin' to be nice" he shrugged. "it's okay, we can just bring her to the zoo and lock her up in a cage" she joked. "but she's your best friend" he looked at her, thinking she was crazy. "i don't know if she's my best friend anymore" she mumbled.

they began to talk, finding solace in each other's company and sharing their perspectives on relationships and friendships.

as the day went on, melissa and sodapop realized they had more in common than they initially thought. they laughed at the same jokes, bonded over shared interests, and delved into deep conversations about life and love. it felt like they had known each other for ages, despite this being their first real encounter without kate.

in that moment, melissa couldn't help but feel a slight glimmer of hope. maybe this unexpected connection was a sign that there was something more to explore. however, she also knew the importance of respecting her friendship with kate and navigating this delicate situation with care.

once melissa and sodapop made it to her house they made sure to exchange numbers, promising to keep in touch.

sometimes, life has a way of bringing people together when they least expect it. melissa and sodapop were about to embark on a journey filled with uncertainty, but also with a small potential for something beautiful to blossom. only time would tell where their connection would lead.
