Abigail and Sofia had made it to their seats 20 minutes before the match started- right above the home benches.

Sofia had gotten herself a tiny flag with Arsenal's logo on it, and was currently waving it in front of Abigail's face. Abigail had refused to get one, saying that "wearing Arsenal's jersey was bad enough", and she didn't want to be too big of a "traitor to Liverpool."

Soon enough the players would make their way onto the pitch. The national anthem of the United Kingdom, the Premier League anthem and introductions took place before the 22 players would each take their place on the field.

With the ball rolling in Arsenal's possession, the team quickly made advances to try and score to gain the upper hand but were prevented each time by a different player.

The first half consisted of the ball mainly in Arsenal's possession. Liverpool had played more of a defensive role, making a good amount of plays to attempt to score but were all denied by the home team. With no team able to score, the teams retreated into their locker rooms to begin their halftime break.

After the 15 minutes were over, the two teams spilled back out onto the field and kickoff gave Liverpool a chance to attack right away.

Arsenal quickly pushed back and managed to score a goal- a brilliant shot from Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead.

The Gunners didn't hold on to the lead for long, a pass from Cody Gakpo gave Szoboszlai a chance to move toward, and after a quick pass to Mo Salah the ball found its way into the back of the net, flying past David Raya.

The game was tied 1-1 and in the last ten minutes. Bukayo Saka now had the ball, and Virgil was reminded of the moment he saw Saka's name on the back of the jersey Abigail was wearing.

With a quick slide tackle, the ball was back in Liverpool's possession and Saka was complaining to the referee to mark a foul but failed, since the tackle was clean.

The Liverpool players quickly moved into attack and after Trent passed the ball to Núñez, the ball found itself in the back of the next once again, making the score 2-1.

Arsenal didn't have enough time to even out the score, losing the game and the first place position in the Premier League table to the Reds.

The two girls made their way towards the locker rooms once again, and Abigail waited outside in the hall with Sofia while they waited for Kai Havertz to walk out.

Most of the London-based players made their way out of the locker room, each of them saying a quick hello to the two girls waiting outside since Havertz had mentioned them to the squad during half-time.

Once Saka walked out, he waved to Sofia and then towards Abigail, complimenting her jersey by saying "Nice jersey, looks good with my name on your back," before quickly walking away, leaving Abigail shocked and Sofia mentally freaking out for her bestfriend.

It seemed like Havertz had taken his sweet time to finish up in the locker room, since Liverpool players started leaving before he made his way out, including Mo Salah, Trent, and their captain, Virgil.

Salah and Trent walked away once they saw Abigail, which they recognized by the jersey she was wearing since Virgil told them about it before the game, during halftime, and after the game.

Virgil had stayed back, which Sofia took as a sign to walk away from her bestfriend and go on her phone, pretending to not listen.

The girl questioned whether talking to Virgil would be a good idea, especially after all the emotions he had caused her, not always positive, but emotions nonetheless.

He questioned whether the conversation would go the way he wanted it to. He hoped she would understand why he hadn't been visiting the shop or messaging her, even though he knew he was in the wrong. He hoped she wasn't a fan of any team other than Liverpool, especially not their biggest competition. He hoped there was no specific reason to her wearing Saka's name on her back, and it was just a random choice.

He hoped she was there to watch him play and not anyone else, even though he knew that it was unlikely. He hoped nobody had taken her mind like she took his in the two months they hadn't talked.

And all she hoped was that he had a valid reason for his absence. She hoped she would find the reason why she cared so much about him, even though deep down she knew clearly, but she didn't want to admit it to herself or anyone else at the moment.
