YN POV

Flashback

In a quiet corner of the university cafeteria, I sat alone at an empty table, lost in my thoughts about my upcoming engineering capstone project. The task seemed daunting, and I couldn't settle on a suitable idea. Just then, I heard a friendly voice call out my name, and I looked up to see Lexi, a fellow student, approaching me.

"Hey, YN, right?" Lexi greeted me with a warm smile as he took a seat beside an empty chair. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in partnering up for the capstone. It's been hard finding a teammate since most people here already know each other." He offered, and I couldn't believe my luck.

"Sure, let's do it. What's your blueprint?" Lexi eagerly showed me his work, an AI blueprint. He explained that he could handle the programming aspect, but he needed help with the design. Curious, I asked about his inspiration, and that's when he mentioned the movie where Spider-Man used AI glasses to control drones.

We brainstormed the idea of creating AI glasses capable of analyzing and identifying obstacles. With that plan in mind, we embarked on our project with passion and determination, to pass the finals. We faced numerous challenges along the way, but we never gave up. Instead, we learned from our failures and kept pushing forward.

A year later, our hard work paid off, and we completed the prototype AI glasses project. As the time came to showcase our creation, Lexi confessed he had stage fright and encouraged me to present it. I, too, was nervous, but for Lexi's sake, I took the responsibility.

The presentation was a success, and we celebrated our accomplishments and our friendship, which had grown stronger over the four years we spent together. However, our happiness was soon shadowed by heartbreaking news. Lexi was diagnosed with cancer.

I visited him in the hospital, and despite his frail condition, he managed to greet me with a weak wave. I asked how he was doing, and he replied positively, displaying his usual optimistic spirit.

Curiously, I asked him what L.E.X.I stood for, and he grinned weakly. "It stands for 'Life-Enabling Xenon Intelligence,'" Lexi explained. "It's not just any ordinary AI; it's an advanced program designed to assist me in any situation. I created L.E.X.I to be like my sidekick, ready to lend a helping hand whenever I need it."

I was amazed by Lexi's ingenuity and dedication to upgrading his creation. "That's incredible," I said, genuinely impressed. "You always had a way with technology, you're brilliant!" Lexi's smile grew wider. "Thanks, YN. You've been an amazing partner and friend throughout my whole life. I know I can trust L.E.X.I. with you if anything happens to me. He's more than just a program; he's like a part of me, my legacy."

As he spoke, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. On one hand, I was honored that Lexi trusted me with this incredible creation. On the other hand, the thought of losing my friend was painful. I tried to hide my emotions, not wanting to burden him further during his difficult time.
