"Kyla for fuck's sake"
I yelled at myself hitting the steering wheel leaning my head on it taking a series of deep breaths, it was at least the fifth time I'd stopped during the journey a journey that should have taken just two hours but was now taking nearly three.

I couldn't go more than two kilometers without feeling the need to turn around and go back, I was afraid of not being able to hold back once there that I would have burst giving freedom to all those feelings that I pushed deep down for all those years; picking up the phone I dialed my best friend's number needing to hear his voice and after two rings he answered.

"Hey peach you there yet?"
He asked immediately making me release an almost desperate sigh.
"No Ax, I can't, I just can't bring myself to do it"
I said leaning my head against the headrest of the car hearing a slight sigh on the other side.

"It's normal peach but believe me you don't have to be afraid of anything.
Your mother, even tho I haven't had the pleasure to meet her, I know for sure that she would be so proud of the strong woman you have become and the goals you are reaching"

His words were having an effect on me in fact I felt slightly calmer than before.

"Thank you Ax"
"Don't even say it and if you need anything call me peach I love you and see you tonight"
He said and for the thousandth time I felt so lucky to have an Axel in my life.

"I love you and thank you"
We ended the call, this time I felt like being able to go through the last kilometers before reaching my destination.

Not long after I arrived at the cemetery, it consisted of an immense garden strewn with gravestones, there was also a fountain in which I remember there were many colored fish that as a child I loved to watch swim.

Once closed the car's door it took me a few seconds before starting to walk towards the immense garden, but when I finally felt ready, I started looking around, noticing the presence of other people who, like me, were visiting deceased loved ones.
When I arrived in front of the place where I remembered my mother's gravestone to be, I was shocked because it was no longer there, where my mother was once buried there was only an expanse of grass and nothing else.

Just as I was about to turn around and ask someone who worked in that cemetery for an explanation, a voice caught my attention.

"Kyla?"
Turning around I saw Paul's face approaching me with a slightly confused or perhaps surprised look.
"Paul what are you doing here"

"I came to see my father and decided to say pay a visit to Sarah as well"
He said pointing behind him causing me to furrow my eyebrows in total confusion.

"Do you happen to know what happened to the
my mother's gravestone?
"It was moved years ago"
He told me maybe expecting me to know about this information but instead I didn't have a clue which made me feel bad.

"Come I'll show you"
We walked towards a more secluded part of the cemetery where there was a beautiful crypt in black marble with gold details, at the entrance to the crypt my mother's name and both surnames were written, I put my hand to my chest when my eyes stopped on a photo of her, feeling my eyes sting.

Without saying a word I entered the crypt admiring everything around me, from the plaque on the wall to the beautiful sunflowers that seemed too real to be fake so I reached out a hand touching the petals noticing that they were in fact real new flowers that had just been watered.

"Did you bring these sunflowers? They are beautiful"
I said with a moved smile, turning to Paul who looked at me for a moment with a confused expression.
"No I didn't, actually every year someone always brings these same flowers"
