Ch. 9: Confrontation

Start from the beginning

As she marched down the halls, still out of breath after everything that happened, she nearly reached it before....

"Excuse me" A voice stopped her.

She turned to see none other than Dexter Lumis himself. This time, he was here and upfront for her to actually meet and greet with. Racheal almost gasped from the surprise of seeing him again, let alone up close.

"Sorry, but I was trying to catch up with Johnny and The Way and was hoping you could lead me to them" he casually stated.

Racheal was fairly certain at what he was doing but played along nonetheless.

"Oh, uh... they're actually on their way to catering now" she informed.

"Thanks" he smiled. "Great match tonight, too. I've never seen a newcomer do so well like that" he complimented and she tried not to blush, unsuccessfully.

"Thank you. I've had great teachers" she smiled.

"I can tell" he nodded. "By the way, we never really got formally introduced" he noted and Racheal felt her heart leap.

She could not believe he was standing here and that he actually wanted to talk to her.

"True, but I know who you are" she nervously smiled with her hand out, to which he shook.

"Well, my real name is Sam" he informed, which was quite the shock to her.

"Is it really?"

"Samuel Shaw, to be exact"

She giggled a little.

"I like that, and one of my best friends is named Sam too"

That made Shaw giggle.

"I guess you enjoy Sam's Club a lot" he gave a cheeky grin.

She couldn't help but laugh a little at his cute joke.

"Ok, that was pretty clever, I'll admit" he giggled with a proud grin, which she then realized she hadn't told him her real name yet. "I'm Racheal Purees"

He seemed to love the sound of that.

"Hmm, that's beautiful"

That got her to blush hard. No one had ever said that about her name. Of course, used to, she would introduce herself as Racheal Doyle, which doesn't have that same effect. Even so, she never expected to hear that about her name.

"Uh... thank you" she managed to say without out her voice breaking, which did involve clearing her throat to help.

"I also noticed the way it was spelled on the name plate. Is that the actual spelling?"

"Yea, it's a little odd, I know" she slightly grimaced with embarrassment.

"No, I like it, very unique" he assured, continuing to flatter her. "But anyway, don't want to take up much of your time. Just wanted to formally introduce myself and welcome you aboard"

"Thank you, I appreciate that a lot, and I'm glad you did" she nodded and spoke with honesty.

"Me too" he smiled. "Well, I'll let you be on your way now. Congrats on the win again and have a great night"

"You too, and thanks again" She smiled.

They shook hands one more time before going their separate ways. Racheal couldn't help but glance back at him as he walked.

'I really am glad he came to talk to me, and that he wanted to no-less' She thought to herself. 'He has a nice butt too'

She shook her head from that sudden, weird thought that popped up out of nowhere before continuing her way. She approached her locker room and entered to find her friends playing with her dog, all the while watching the remainder of the show. She was also pleasantly surprised to find Shotzi had arrived to join them.
