Shadow opens the filing cabinet, on the files that had the red bolded words Deceased on them. He slips Sonic's medical records into the cabinet, just another person that he lost to this incurable disease.

He closes the cabinet opening the door to his office and walking out, the room that Sonic had been staying in was getting cleaned out, with everything getting washed and disinfected, for the next patient...that was gonna have to spend the night.

He just knew his son wasn't gonna take this death well...since the two were really close, he could just see the love in his son's eyes whenever he was around the blue hedgehog. The most that he could've done was just give the hedgehog's last moments something that he wouldn't forget, even after death.

"Vanilla"

Vanilla sniffs as she looks up at Shadow, this part of the mobian hospital had just turn grim...all of the staff was rather close to Sonic, after all he's was the youngest patient in the section, being only thirteen. "Call the mother and tell her the news...not that she would care seeing that her reckless behavior during her pregnancy is her fault" the darker hedgehog scoffs.

"Will do...Shadow" Vanilla agreed.

Shadow stopped at the open empty room, that had been cleaned out of all the gifts his son bought for Sonic, he knelt down picking up a child like drawing that had be left behind, a stick figure of a blue hedgehog holding hands with a human stick figure with blonde hair.

"I just knew you were watching me" he thought to himself looking at the stick figure. "Thank you for giving him peace" he folded the drawing and slipped it into his coat pocket, before leaving. He still had a job to do.

It had been at least three hours before the public bus stopped at the sliding doors of the hospital. When Silver got off of the bus, the atmosphere of the place had shifted to being a rather gloomy one, when he walked into the building, he was greeted with the same old thing...mobians waiting in the lobby to be called so the can get checked up on, or treated.

He started to make his way to the elevator, to head up to the floor, "Today is the day...just tell him how you feel, he probably feels the same way you do about him" he thought to himself as he looked down at his half of the necklace, but as the elevator passed through the different levels, he just had a sinking feeling that something bad had happened.

When the familiar Ping sound was heard the albino hedgehog stepped out of the elevator, he wave hello to the lady at the front desk, and open the doors the double doors to the back.

But...when he walked to the room where Sonic was staying in his ears pinned to his head when he saw that the room was empty. "Where?"

"Silver it's best that you come with me" Shadow motions his son to follow.

"You move him to another room...right?" Silver asked his voice a little shaky, as he was afraid of the truth...he couldn't be gone...not when they promised they spend his sixteenth birthday together like old times...he was getting better!

Right?

"Silver!" Amy called out as she wrapped her arms around her son, her muzzle stained with tears.

"D-Dad...he's in another room r-right?" Silver asked again.

"I'm sorry son...but he's no longer with us" Shadow admits.

Silver only felt tears forming in his eyes as he saw the red band on Sonic's lifeless body, it was something that hospitals did to show when a patient had deceased.

"N-No..." Silver mutters as he started trembling, and tears were streaming down his cheeks. "He...can't be..." the fifteen year old whimpered out.

He promised...no...they promised they would be together forever.

Of course that was when Sonic was much healthier, he just hurried over to the body, Sonic's hands were cold...and at least he had a smile on his muzzle...Silver just started breaking down in fits of tears.

His childhood best friend...no...his boyfriend, had left him.

"Silver..."

The albino hedgehog just hugged his mother tightly sobbing into her, out of all the people that had left him...it had to be his only friend in this building. Someone that he had a connection with and the hedgehog that he always look forward to seeing every time he got to the hospital after a long day of school.
