•• Chapter Forty Three ••

Start from the beginning

"And we can take your word for it?"
Damon groans in annoyance as they reach the house.

"Yes." He said, simply. Now, at this point, Vivian felt she should just continue egging him on even though she already trusted him. At least enough to have already dropped the subject a while ago.

"Because your words been trusted before."

"You're one to talk." Damon scoffed.

Vivian smiled, Stefan rolled his eyes. "Children, please."

"You know, this whole thing right here," Vivian said, using her finger to gesture to the two of them, "is becoming a little toxic, if you ask me."

"Good thing no one asked." Stefan said, giving her a tight lipped smile.

"You know, being a little "toxic" just making things more interesting." Damon said, playfully. Vivian shook her head amusingly until she suddenly stopped walking. Something in the air shifted and she realized that they weren't the only beings around.

"What is it?" Stefan asked, looking at her with a questioning look. She turned to him and nodded her head towards the house. Stefan and Damon share a silent look with each other and nod in agreement. Vivian was already ahead of the two as she walked towards the house as stealthy as she knew. When she reached the stairs to the Basement, Bonnie jumped slightly and was about to say something before Vivian put a finger to her own lip and shushed her.
Eventually, When the coast was clear, Vivian brought Bonnie upstairs and towards the exit.

"Thanks." Bonnie said, taking a breath.

"No problem. I love saving witches from rabid hybrids. Of to school you go." Bonnie nodded and quickly left and Vivian just as quickly headed back downstairs where Stefan and Damon waited after taking care of the lurking hybrid.

"Did you get rid of the body?" Stefan asked his brother, as he whacked the coffin with a shovel.

"Yeah." Damon said, throwing the gardening tool over to the side in defeat and annoyance. "Any sign of more of our little hybrid buddies?"

"Nope. Just the dead one." Stefan said, staring down his brother. Vivian looked between the two and crossed her arms over her chest.

"All right, Klaus has six siblings. Rebekah's now with Klaus." Damon says, now turning to Vivian. "There was one dead kid in the old world, one dead kid in the new world...which leaves Elijah and two others. Three sleeping Originals, four coffins. So who the hell is in the lockbox?"

"Santa Claus?" Vivian questioned

"You know—"

"Look," Stefan said, cutting the two off, "I have no idea. And neither does Vivian, unsurprisingly...but whatever's in here, Bonnie seems to think it will help kill Klaus. So as soon as she can get this open, the sooner we know if she's right."

"Oh, you'd think if the spirits of dead witches can make a coffin invisible..." Damon said, turning away from the coffin, "that they'd figure out how to open one." He said, talking to the non visible witches. When nothing happened, Damon scoffed.

"Fine. Don't help."

"You know none of this is gonna do us any good...if Klaus's hybrid minions find our hiding spot right?" Vivian deadpanned.

"We need to get rid of them." Stefan adds.

"Oh, yeah. That's a great idea, Stefan. Let's just ask him to pack a bag, take a long vay-cay while you're at it? I'm sure he could use a little R-and-R. How about you keep the peace? Don't draw attention to things we're trying to hide."

"No." Stefan said, shaking his head. "I'm not gonna play defense when I have what Klaus wants. He does what I say or I dump his family into the bottom of the ocean."

"Then he kills you and everyone you've ever known. You know, like, I don't know, me, or the ex lover." Damon said, nodding his head in Vivian's direction.

"Hey, I'm right here. And we don't need to bring it up every chance all right? Besides, Damon, Stefan's right. He's bluffing. His family means more to him than anything else, trust me."

"You sure about that?" Damon questions

"I don't know, Damon." Stefan said, cutting Vivian off from even uttering a word. "I mean, I guess there's only one way to find out, right? Call his bluff." Stefan turned from his brother and Vivian sighed. This was part of the plan she wasn't really sure of. Things could only go further down hill from here, Vivian guessed.

"Whoa. Wait." Damon said, urgently, "the only way to call someone's bluff...Stefan, is to be willing to lose everything if you're wrong."
With a muted glance, Stefan ignored his brother and walked away.

"You're okay with this?" Damon said, looking towards her as he brushed his fingers through his dark hair. Vivian took a step towards the older brother.

"I wouldn't let him even think about doing it if I didn't trust we had the upper hand in this." She told him, strongly.

Yay an update!
Question for the readers, I know this story has been pretty much episode by episode, and I have plans once's the whole Klaus thing blows over...
But I was wondering if any of you had any ideas they'd like to add.
Like, I want something more for Vivian outside of the show and the brothers if that makes sense, so, if you have any ideas of what should happen to her to build up her character even more than I already have planned, then feel free to comment and or PM me and I'll be happy to work some things out for future chapters!!
