Gulf woke up in good condition. He had taken a day off the previous day, and it had been the best decision he had ever made. His fever had gone down, and he no longer felt the pain in his stomach.

"Thank you for taking a day off, P. I've been telling you that the whole time," Win said, tying his apron.

"Yes, yes. Sorry for making you worry," Gulf replied.

The day went smoothly, and Gulf finished everything in a good mood. He arrived home and paused in the kitchen for a moment, smirking and shaking his head. Gulf washed himself, got dressed, and then went to the kitchen.

He took out cocoa powder, chocolate chips, eggs, and other ingredients. He separated the egg whites and poured them into a bowl filled with cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt. He also added vanilla extract and chocolate chips before stirring it evenly. Then he used a cookie scoop to place the mixture on a baking sheet and baked it for 15 minutes. In the meantime, he cleaned the counter.

After 15 minutes, he had freshly baked chocolate cookies. He placed them nicely on a plate and brought them to his office. Instead of his desk, he placed them on another table and looked up at the corner of his room.

"Cookies?" Gulf smiled.

A figure emerged and revealed Bright.

"I could smell them from here," Bright commented.

"I know," Gulf replied, then proceeded to his coffee table.

"Why the sudden baking?" Bright sat down on the sofa. He had to admit that the smell was tempting.

"I thought it might be nice to bake something for you as a thank-you gift," Gulf said, pouring hot water into the cups.

"Gift?" Bright raised his right eyebrow.

"Yes, for taking care of me that day," Gulf replied, placing the coffee in front of Bright.

"How do you know it was me?" Bright asked.

"Because you're the only one who comes into my house uninvited. Besides, your cologne gave it away," Gulf said, raising his right eyebrow.

"Hmmm," Bright just stared at Gulf. He was impressed by how sharp Gulf's senses were.

"You sure know how to fight but don't know how to take care of yourself," Bright took a sip of his coffee. He had been thinking about the taste for days.

"I was busy. And for the record, it's your people who made me like that," Gulf said, raising an eyebrow.

"You should just give the boy up," Bright placed his coffee on the table.

"You know that's not going to happen," Gulf replied, placing his cup as well. He pushed the plate of cookies closer to Bright, offering him one.

Bright contemplated for a moment because he didn't like sweets. When he looked up, he could see Gulf's twinkling eyes. Smirking, he took a cookie and bit into it. Once again, Gulf surprised him. He had never tasted a cookie this good. The taste was incredible. It melted in his mouth, and the sweetness and saltiness complemented each other perfectly.

"Is it good?" Gulf asked, hoping for an answer.

Bright coughed a little before speaking up.

"It's fine," Bright said, not wanting to admit that the cookies were the best he had ever had.

"That means it's good," Gulf smiled before taking a cookie. He tasted it and admired the flavor of his creation. Throughout the night, Bright looked at Gulf under the night light. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful Gulf looked while baking or making coffee.

"You sure confident for a cafe owner," Bright commented.

"I'm sure you have information about me, but don't you think I should at least know your name?" Gulf asked

Bright was quiet for a while before speaking up.

"Bright," he said, taking a sip of his coffee as a signal to leave it at that.

Gulf only nodded. He had to admit, that name suited him well.

"So, how's the cafe after your day off?" Bright changed the topic while biting into his cookie. They talked throughout the night, and it was already 3 in the morning when Bright decided to leave.

Gulf lay down on his bed, reflecting on the unexpected conversation he had with the "cruel" boss he had always heard about. Maybe they could be friends. However, Gulf quickly shook his head.

"Gulf! Haven't you learned your lesson?" Gulf dismissed the idea, and fell asleep.

Bright finished washing up, got dressed, and sat on a sofa. He couldn't help but think about their conversation earlier. He never thought talking with Gulf could be so enjoyable. The way Gulf's face lit up whenever coffee or cakes were mentioned intrigued him.

"Maybe..." Bright mused, contemplating something. He went to sleep that night with thoughts of Gulf on his mind.

Bright was busy with work for the next two days and didn't have a chance to rest as he had a lot of files to go through. Suddenly, Dew burst into his room without knocking.

"Boss! We have a problem!" Dew exclaimed, catching his breath.

Bright stood up and left his office with Dew. One of their deals had been disrupted by a third party, and it turned out that the other party had betrayed them. Now, his group was caught in a fight with two other groups, and the situation didn't look good, especially since one of the rival bosses was present.

Meanwhile, Gulf was drying his hair when he heard a grunt from outside his window. Knowing it was Bright, Gulf continued his task. But then, he caught a whiff of something unpleasant. He rushed to his office and saw Bright on the floor.

"Bright?" Gulf ran to Bright's side.

"What happened?" Gulf asked, noticing the blood on Bright and the gunshot wound on his upper arm.

"Gulf..."
