Let's do things differently...

Instead of telling you what Miles is doing.

I'm... going to tell you how I joined the Spider Society.

So... let's go back to the night my brother, Miles died.

A couple of years after my adoption, I always wanted friends other than Miles and Ganke... a second family to call my own.

Especially when Dad died.

I looked younger. 2 years younger to be exact. I sat at a four-seater table, eating my dinner that I made. I stirred my spoon around in the milk, watching my cereal move to the edges.

My mum, Rio was on the phone talking in Spanish, as Uncle Aaron and Miles sat on the couch watching TV.

I soon got over it when I became Spiderman though.

"¡Recuerda sacar la basura antes de esta noche!" (Remember to take out the trash before tonight!)

Mum shouted out from the kitchen. I glanced to see Miles wave his hand as if Mum could hear a waving arm.

Mum then kissed me on the temple, her form of goodbye and grabbed her purse. She had a night shift at the hospital so I was stuck with Miles and Aaron doing whatever.

"And Spiderman saves the day once again! Helping with the-"

This line of work taught me to keep to the solo act. It was better that way.

As the door closed, Miles stared darkly at the screen as Aaron changed the channel.

Aaron tapped Miles on the forearm before pulling himself off the couch. I placed my bowl in the sink after washing out the milk.

"Me and Ganke are going out tonight with Aaron. You good holdin' down the fort?"

Miles asked as Aaron got his jacket over his shoulders by the door. I stood there in the light of the kitchen, blinking.

"Well, um- I was thinking maybe we could hang out tonight...?"

Aaron handed Miles his jacket as Miles's phone lit up. The older teen sighed before sharing a glance at Aaron.

"We can't bro, I'm sorry... maybe tomorrow?"

"Man, you need to yourself some friends!"

Miles slapped Aaron on the back as they walked out the door, slamming it. I stood in the kitchen doorway, tightly gripping my shirt.

But... the loneliness feeling always stuck. Always stuck to me like some web.
