His jaw dropped onto the ground.

He picked it up.

It dropped again.

The Kyūbi had a gender all this time!?

And she was beautiful too!

The fox woman growled at him for ignoring her.

She stepped out of the gates and slapped his cheek with her tail.

"YEOWCH!!"

"That's for ignoring me!"

The Kyūbi huffed with a pout as she folded her hands under her bust.

"...cute..."

Naruto and the Kyūbi's eyes went dinner plates sized.

The former clasped his mouth.

The latter hid her face behind her tails.

The ears twitched cutely though.

Clearing her throat, she regained her composure though her cheeks were still red.

"Be grateful since you're the first human to see this form."

Naruto kneeled and put his head on the floor.

"I am eternally grateful."

The Kyūbi took a step back with a sweatdrop from his gesture as if praising her.

"A-Anyway! For what purpose did you come here?"

Naruto quickly stood up.

"Accident, actually." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "But since I'm here, be my friend?"

The Kyūbi stood rooted on her spot before she shook her head.

"You want me, the strongest Biju, to be your friend?"

"Yup!" Naruto bobbed his head with a grin.

The fox lady looked at the outstretched hand with scrutinizing eyes.

She looked back up at the boy's face again before she huffed lightly.

She had forgotten that albeit his older and damned handsome look, Naruto was still a boy of 12 years old. An innocent who was forced to suffer in the hands of those damned villagers just because he had her sealed inside him.

Unlike her previous hosts, Mito and Kushina Uzumaki who had the blasted First Hokage and the damned Fourth Hokage, Naruto didn't have anyone to protect him.

Even she was limited to what she could do to heal him because of the seal.

"...do I have to?"

"Do you see me giving up?"

"...fine..." the Kyūbi whined as she took his hand.

'warm' she thought.

"My name is Ahri, Naru-chan."

The blonde boy's eyebrow twitched at that nickname.

Mikoto always called him that and he disliked it since it made him sound girly.

"Very well, A-chan." Naruto returned the tease much to the woman's embarrassment at the pet name.

Then her thoughts went back to the early years of the blonde's life.

She watched him smiling through all his pain and suffering he earned from the villagers after he started to live alone.

He persevered and kept that damn smile in each moment in order to not worry a certain Uchiha Matriarch and the cat-masked woman.
