{ # In which, you are a librarian who works late hours, and your (very worried) husband is Kokushibo.

[ Per request of @karenahhhhh ]

Swiftly, you finish reorganising some books which were out of their place in the shelves.

Droplets of water would stream out of the overcast sky, puddles forming as the rainfall would grow heavier by the moment.

You push the now emptied book cart back to its original place, and begin to tidy up after yourself.

You look outside the window, taking notice of the downpour outside.

Great - just great. You had forgotten your umbrella, of all days, and God just had to spite you by making it rain.

You sigh, grabbing your jacket as you exit the library where you worked at. Your shift has just ended, so now you were free to leave.

You check the time, and leave the library, locking its doors, noticing that it was quite late - as usual.

Sighing, you decide to pick up the pace, running back home. You had a feeling that Kokushibo would definitely be worried sick by now.

You make your way down the streets, and eventually you arrive at the doorsteps of your home, out of breath as you had run all the way.

The rain had dampened your head and your clothes. You groan - if you had brought your umbrella, this wouldn't have happened.

You slide open the door, sharply exhaling.

" I'm home! " You call out, sliding the door shut behind you and taking your shoes off.

" You're quite late, aren't you? " A voice responds, low and gruff.

You look up to see your husband, Kokushibo, his arms crossed and clearly unpleased.

" I know. I'm sorry. " You sigh, preparing to be scolded.

" You promised to be back earlier. Did something happen? Are you okay? " He says, a hint of concern visible on his face.

Swiftly, he checks you for any injuries or anything unusual, and he sighs in relief.

" Alright, it seems not. "

" Really, you have to stop worrying about me so much, Kokushibo. " You smile amusedly, pinching the bridge of Kokushibo's nose playfully.

Kokushibo scoffs, rolling his eyes as you do so. Then, he pauses, his eyes narrowing as he looks at you once more.

" Did you forget your umbrella? You're absolutely soaked. Look at you. " He frowns, clasping your hands in his.

You shake your head, " I'll be fine, it's nothing, really. "

" Uh-huh, " He eyes you skeptically, " You always say you'll be fine when I'm sure you won't be. Remember the last time you caught a cold? "

You groan, running a hand through your head as you recall it.

" You said you felt like you were dying when it was a minor cold. " He chuckles, shaking his head as he walks with you down the hall.

" Go dry off, I don't want you getting sick. " He smiles, pecking your forehead with a kiss.

You faintly blush at the gesture - Kokushibo was always quite the endearing man,  " Alright, alright. "

You attempt to embrace Kokushibo, only for him to flick your forehead, " I don't want my clothes to get wet. I just changed. "

You pout, " Not even a kiss from your love? How hurtful. " You say, crossing your arms in a playful manner.

Kokushibo sighs, giving in, and hugs you. He chuckles, " Fine, fine. Here you go. "

You smile warmly, hugging him back as you nuzzle into him, sighing contently, basking in his warmth.

" Thank you! You're so sweet. " You giggle, kissing him on the cheek.

Once you let go of each-other, you head to your room to dry off and get changed.

[ End ]
