Chapter 43. 'The Elders' Hidden Conspiracy.'

"Make yourself clear Nishant!" Tej says frowning at his words.

"If you think she stayed back with her own will then you are wrong!" Nishant says angrily frowning and all get stunned hearing his words and freeze in shock.

"What?!" Mrityunjay and Manav whisper in unison with Dr. Taahira, Dr. Smriti and Anshuman while others were speechlessly silent. Vihaan did not kmow how to react. His heart was beating like a running horse.

Nishant takes deep breaths to control his anger as they watch him. He looks at Vihaan, Tej and Anshuman and says in controlled low tone, "I understand that she was sent away so that for her safety she doesn't get a lot of attention because at that time it was dangerous as our elders told us. But! She was not allowed to talk to anyone of your family members and none of you were allowed to talk to her even over a phone call, क्यूँ?! Have you ever gave it a thought?" Nishant looks at Anshuman, Tej and Vihaan for an answer who exchange looks but they only give him silent stares. They too had questions but had no answers.

[ Translation : "क्यूँ?!" - "Why?!" ]

"You are saying she was sent away but she never agreed with the idea?" Vihaan asks breaking the dumb silence as all were in shock.

Nishant shrugs saying, "I don't know."

Tej makes a face saying as he stands up, "What do you mean you don't know? You yourself said just now that she was sent away!"

Nishant takes a deep breath and says, "Yeah! I said it! But she neither agreed nor denied!"

"अब इसका क्या मतलब हुआ?" Smriti asks him confusedly scrunching her nose like Taahira.

[ Translation : "Now what does that mean?" ]

Nishant sighs and says putting his hands on the table, "मुझे नहीं मालूम! She didn't tell me anything but always ignored the question whenever I asked her about it."

[ Translation : "I don't know!" ]

Rajveer who has been observing everything silently, asks looking at the doctor, "Did she tell you all this because you both love each other for real? Are you really going to oppose us to date her even after knowing the reason well?"

They all look at him for an answer to this question with same serious faces as they go back on the main topic. Vihaan frowns with his brothers while the trio of officers exchange looks.

Nishant looks at them all silently and blankly and says shaking his head, "You know what? She is right about you guys, तुम सबका एक पेंच ढीला है। I got the dumbest friends in the history of earth." He says the last part making an irritated face as he looks at his friends.

[ Translation : "You know what? She is right about you guys, all of you have a screw loose. I got the dumbest friends in the history of earth." ]

Anshuman was going to ask something as he frowns but Nishant says stopping him as he shows his index finger shutting his mouth, "Yes, I love her more than myself." They frown again deeply while Anshuman fists his hands but the doctor continues, "The timing when I met her, I knew well that I got a sibling for life time." His lips curl up in a genuine smile as happiness looks out from his eyes.

*Crickets' sound in the background.*

They all fall silent at his words looking at him with more confusion.
