Y/n POV

I just left Kehlani's show in Houston going to the gas station. Since I have time before the after party.

I walked into the store looking for something to drink cause I almost had an asthma attack at the concert.

I grabbed some snacks before going to the counter.

"5.87" They said.

I handed them a 10 but when they grabbed it I noticed something. "My old best friend has-" I started. "That same hand tattoo." She finished.
I looked up and to my suspicion,

"Hey Y/n."
She grinned ear to ear at me.

"MAYA!" I shouted completely optimistic and hopped over the counter. We hugged until we pulled away.

"Holy shit you've gotten taller like way taller!" She said. "Maya FUCKING Hawke!" I exclaimed fucking livid to see my childhood best friend.

Maya and I met in 5 grade and were best friends up until she had to move away because she came out in 11th grade to her parents, and her father was more than happy for her but Maya's mother became abusive and crazy til the point they had to move and her father had to get full custody of her.

Leaving me behind, unfortunately, to do my senior year of high school and the rest of college alone.

But as a seal to our friendship even if we never saw each other again we got matching hand tattoos.

"Finally I knew we would see each other again!" She shouted basically shaking with excitement. I hug her again lost for words, "We have to catch up." She said. "We can do that now and give me your number." I told her pulling away.

"Yeah yeah wait, my shift doesn't end until 30 minutes." She declared taking out her phone.

I looked at my watch to see if we could go to Kelani's afterparty in time. "We can go to this afterparty but we'll be a little late." I said looking at her.

"I'm down." she nodded. "Ok my hotel is 4 minutes away I'm gonna go change and be right back." I told her.

We hugged and I headed to my suite and changed. I didn't wanna overdo it so I just did something but not too much.

I drove back to see it was a few people in the lot now. I walked in to see Maya ringing someone up, "Y/n come back here." she said unlocking the door to behind the counter.

We joked around, caught up a little, and smoked because her boss was cool and she said he didn't care along as she didn't have the store smell like it.

She closed the store and changed into other clothes in the locker room before we got in our cars and left. Maya followed me until we got there.

I called Kehlani to get us at the door but no answer, figuring she was already having a go time I called Destin. He picked and came and got us and I introduced Maya to him.

See me and Destin had already known each other even before Lani. We met when he booked me for a photo shoot and got drinks after cause we had a vibe.

As suspected Lani was already doing her thing so Maya and I got drinks and vibed with the crowd.
Kehlani saw me after a while and waved, I smiled and winked back at her.

Me and Maya got fucked up but what made me happy was that Destin and Maya got way closer.

With Me and Maya being a little too drunk Destin took her home and Kehlani took me back to my suite.
"Y/n come on." Kehlani told me pulling me to the rental car.

"Bro this world is a damn allusion look Lani." I said looking up at the stars. She grabbed the hem of my pants and tugged me to the all-black SUV in the back parking lot.
