CHAPTER 8 - A NEW START

Kyle's POV

Next day

I reached school on bike and quickly went in but that disgusting class bell rang and everyone was off to their class.

I bunked the first period along with Chris as usual, we had math and we hated it to be honest so we just went to an empty class room on the second floor and were busy on our phones...

After sometime Chris started babbling about some girl named Paige and kept talking which made me dozed off. I tell you he's head over heels for her. Annoying

I woke up some hours later from the noises coming from downstairs. It was already lunch so i went downstairs to the cafeteria

As i almost reached there, i was stunned, there were loads of students gathered in the cafeteria and even outside.. i quickly went through in making my way and the thing i saw was rather terrible.

Ava's POV

I woke up early today so i quickly went in to fresh up and decided to make a yummy breakfast for me

I made brownies which tasted yummm .. i was already beginning to get late so i quickly wore fresh clothes and grabbed my bag and went to pick up Paige

Obviously i had to interrogate her after she abandoned me yesterday...

We both chatted till we reached school, grabbed our books from the lockers and went to class.. Today felt like a good day cause me and Paige had maths together as our first period... And rest i didn't Bump into any sluts or annoying people :)

Second period was boring, we had to just read a freaking poem again in English ... Ughh .... Now I'm starting to hate poems seriously

It was lunch now and i was all ready to eat.. i rushed to the cafeteria jumping up n down when what i saw in the cafeteria totally freaked me out

There was a huge crowd forming up in the cafeteria and i could not believe my eyes when i pushed myself through the crowd making my way to the front and saw an old video of me getting played in the whole cafeteria and a tons of people watching

It was a video from my past of when i was in a party, a party that changed my life - you see my past was all dark for me, it was a complete nightmare - I just couldn't believe my eyes and that's when i saw Katey laughing and standing beside the screen on which usually the principal would read or tell important announcements. They probably snuck in the filming office and played the video of me.

I didn't even have the strength to fight, looking at my past self brought up the same old flashbacks from my past.

I couldn't feel my legs and tears came running down my eyes.. i was so shocked and started having panic attacks. I had my knees up covering my face and looked down blocking my ears from listening to all the voices in and out of my head.

That's when i felt someone keeping there hand on my head and then taking me out of the cafeteria he took me to my house.  I didn't even have the strength to stand up still so i just got off his bike and sat on the bench in front of my hosue.

Kyle came up to me saying

"Ava, it's alright just breathe". He said in his soothing voice again but i wasn't able to.. the memories and the voices kept running in my head

"It's all good now just relax" he patted my back slowly slowly giving me a side hug.

I was able to cope up after sometime and when i realised i was really with Kyle at that time all i could say is

"Kyle?" In a soft tone

"Ava" he answered back in a low tone

"Why are you here?" I asked doubting his intentions i mean it isn't my fault he keeps giving me mixed signals

Before he could have something i added up, "Right, i must be looking all pathetic to you, crying and shivering, fine you as well can make fun of me. I'm just a terrible person with a terrible past."

Kyle tried to speak sometimes in between but i just cut him off saying what i had to when he put his finger on my lips to shush me down. Shivers ran down through my spine and those crazy butterflies came in once again . I swear i could feel myself slowly turning into a potato and to hide that i backed off and he took his finger down.

"Listen, I'm sorry I've been so rude to you since the start but i had my reasons, some stupid and selfish reasons which i wanna forget now... Our first meet was indeed intense. I mean i know i must've creeped the hell out of you lol" Kyle said in a nervous way

" I-im sorry for tha-" i said but he cut me off

" Can we just begin again being friends Ava ? A new start maybe " he asked in a gentle yet nervous way

" Why because you pity me? "

" Of course not, it's just, i have no reason but i would really like to get to know you "

" Oh please, I'm a pathetic person didn't you see and you probably would change your idea of talking to me moreover being friends with me*

"I don't care what ever your past is and i can assure you that I'll never change my mind"

We'll then what could i do i told him everything... I mean you'd say i was telling my secret to a bully who could use this as my weakness but what else could he do when there is Marlin and that video to haunt me .

"In my old school, you can say i was pretty popular and i love partying and going out having fun ... I met Marlin (my ex) in a party and we soon became close. We used to go over to each other's house often and have drinks watching shows and movies but i never knew why i always used to fall asleep so fast. Then one night i came over to Marlin's house as we were going to watch a show but his main door was already open so I thought of surprising him and went inside but as i went in"

i breathed looking at Kyle nervously who was listening to me patiently.. he kept his hand on mine and i continued...

"As i went in i saw him mixing something in one of the drinks and throwing the wrapper in the bin.. He after mixing that drink went upstairs and so i checked the bin and there it was - sleeping pills - "

" Wait a minute you said that you always used to fall asleep while watching shows together and then you saw him mixing sleeping pills on one of the drinks then that means-" he paused in shock

" Your right he used to secretly put sleeping pills on my drinks so that i dozed off and the terrifying part is i don't know what he did with me while I was asleep "

I could see Kyle already rising with anger in his eyes

"anyways after spotting the wrapper there i confronted him and broke up with him. Then after a few weeks i went to a party, the exact party which Katey displayed in the cafeteria today, i went outside for some air when someone kept a napking on my nose which led me to faint.. when i woke up i was in the middle of a forest tied up to a tree and yes i begged Marlin to set me free but -" Kyle told me to stop as i was already sobbing and broken

" Ava you don't have to tell me till the end, that guy was an asshole and he'll pay for it.. you have me now, nothing will happen to you so you need not worry" he gave a positive smile looking at me. I was so broken that i couldn't help but hug him

Soon it was dark and told me to go in while he went back on his bike

To be honest i felt a relief letting it out of my chest but then again who said i would be able to stay this relieved for long

I got a text from an unknow number saying

Unknown: Your nightmares are all gonna come true now, be prepared.

I totally freaked out, i ran outside but Kyle wasn't anywhere nearby... That's when i saw Paige and as Paige knew about my past i was about to tell her about the text when she starting talking about the scene at the cafeteria.. not realising and forgetting about the text i went off to bed.
