I took in the fresh morning air, as I looked at the view of the capital. It was still very early in the morning, that even the sun was just slowly rising from the distance and yet here I am all ready for the day

I only had one thing to do today, since I finished the rest of my tasks the other day. Everything needs to go well tonight

"Wake up, Your Excellency. We have a busy day ahead of us. We are to prepare for the awarding of Major Olivia Von Degurechaff." I heard my right hand man, Ivan talking from all the way at the balcony

"I'm out here, Ivan." I said

"My Lord... I see that you are ready for the day." Ivan said surprised

"I couldn't sleep much last night." I said with a tired smile

Ivan sighed and said "I can say the same thing after reading why we made this medal and who we are giving this too. It was even done in a rush due to the efforts of government officials, nobility and the constant pressure from the veteran's association."

"Major Olivia Von Degurechaff. Younger twin sister to Major Tanya Von Degurechaff. Orphans due to their mother leaving them at a church and their father passing away at war. One of the most decorated soldiers in all the world, gaining over 30 medals including The Bloody Cross. A prodigy along with her sister that revolutionized the empire with their ideas... Why weren't they put in the research branch?"

"It was due to the fact that their war potential outweighs it at the time. Though it may be true that their ideas revolutionized the empire, we needed soldiers who could turn the tides of war in our favor. Major Olivia and Tanya Degurechaff did just that." Ivan said

"But still... Were we that desperate to send 2 children to war?" I asked

"Even though I don't fully support it. Those 2 young women are heroes to the empire." Ivan said

I chuckled and said "You don't even see them as children anymore."

"It would be an insult to those 2 if I see them as children. After what they had seen and gone through. I wouldn't be surprised if Major Olivia arrives here with the look of a seasoned soldier... Just like someone I know." Ivan said with a chuckle

"Touche, My friend. Touche." I said with a smile

"But even so, to have the support of government officials, the veteran's association and the people, she must have garnered such a reputation that even speaking her moniker would give our allies hope and our enemies in fear." Ivan said

"She must be one hell of an officer." I said

Just then, I heard the doors open to my room. We turned to see who it was and saw my wife

"Sol, come let's have breakfast. The children are already waiting." Rosaria said

"Coming dear, Ivan and I were just talking about something." I said

I saw my wife give a sad smile and asked "Is it Major Olivia?"

I gave a chuckle and asked "How did you know?"

"Call it a hunch but it's the day of the awarding. Now, come. We don't want our children waiting for us while they sit in front of delicious food, hungry. Would you care to join us, Ivan?" Rosaria said

"I would love to, Your Highness." I vam said with a bow

"Wonderful. Oh! And call Veronica, so she can join us." Rosaria said as she left to go to the dining hall, I presume

"As you wish, Your Highness." Ivan said

Ivan turned to me and said "I best be off to find my daughter. See you at breakfast, Your Majesty." Ivan said then left not before hearing

"See you soon, Cousin." I said as I wabed goodbye

My children. Jacob, Hairley and Yvonne. Triplets if I may add. Oldest to Youngest respectively. Were talking with their cousin Veronica about how excited they were to meet Major Olivia

Our dinning went on with joy and laughter until a messenger came into the room taking deep breaths as he looked like he was in a hurry

"Your Majesty! I bring news! The train Major Olivia was in was attacked by franciou mages!" The messenger said
